It is not the gizmo that sprint and verison tricked us into using we just use our cell phones.

+1, and the free foreign services are awesome. Free text and data in all of Central America, last trip. Free voice in Mexico and Canada, as well

I just checked my Sprint plan , with Sprint . They still have not fully merged with T-Mobile as far as plans and pricing goes.
Anyway they quoted me an ''Inseego Corp. MiFi-8000'' 50 gig. for $65 , then after some use I can up it to 100 gig. , I believe for the same price. Man they really try to mess with your head on all the BS and spin they put on the numbers. Not sure if the 8000 thing really works well?

She needs this for her work computer on the boat. Can not use my phone all of the time cause it goes with me when I leave the boat at any given time.

Yes, I signed up with them in June.
    They're a reseller. I'm connected to att. I have a Nighthawk hotspot. I average about 80-80gig a month.
Average speed is 40mps. I've yet to be throttled.
If you're truly interested, PM me .
    And I have no affiliation.

Oh this looks good. I have heard that the major careers treat modems at a much lower bandwidth priority

Yes, I had Finally. I also had Unlimitedville, but they are back ordered and now make you buy a router.

CG cell looks good, but I did hear AT&T shut down thousands of these resellers, finally being one of them.

For us tethering to a phone is plenty for yakking on fora etc. 20G/M is plenty and all the carriers have a deal somewhere. The big jump is to get the streaming TV..... 2G/hr..... Say 15 days/m 5 hours is 150G.... good luck with that.

Our TM can run 2TVs and 4 computers. 80 and sometimes over 100gb is common while off the dock. No problems.

Before switching to Finally, i had two data lines with ATT, now down to one but will probably add one back on. At 25 gb I get a throttle back warning but never noticed a difference.

I used a $30 RCA Walmart digital antenna at Worton Creek and got quite a few channels out of Baltimore including ABC NBC CBS etc. you might want to try that.... For a temporary fix at the dock .
I now have a permanent digital antenna on the hard top that is a little bit bigger than a GPS receiver antenna and that works quite well and looks good.

Moving to Kent Island this weekend. Piney has WIFI, and I am installing an outside antenna with ship's router. We should be good.

The provider I mentioned has a monthly cap of about 400 gig.
Must admit I've never gone over about 160gig /month. That's with 2 hrs of Netflix each night.

I just saw something about SpaceX starting up a beta program for StarLink. Don't quote me on these numbers but I think it was $500 for the antenna, $100 a month, 50-150Mbps with 20-40ms latencies. Obviously more expensive than some of the cellular solutions being discussed, but nice to see this option coming online with (eventually) true worldwide coverage.

I went ahead and got the CGcellular, see how it goes.
I don't use much bandwidth in the US, but use it as a back up.

Did you ever receive anything from them? I paid for a "starter kit" 2 months ago and still haven't received anything. Twice now they've stated "looks like it was lost in the mail".

    Did they take your money?
I signed up with them back in June. They're a little flakey but once connected seems fine.

    I did receive it.
Took only a few days, but several days to activate the card, probably a week total.

Yup, they did. Apparently they are not an outright fraud; just flakey...
