Nothing scarier on the water than fire. Thankfully all rescued.

There are fire retardant resins that could be used. IDK why they're not used, or are they and it's just the interiors that are so flammable? An apartment complex in NJ burned fast last week and they said that it because the contractor used very flammable materials because they were lighter and cheaper. With everyone wanting more speed these days is it the same reasoning with yachts?

This is a different account of the rescue. Apparently the coast guard did not answer any distress calls and the crew and pax abandoned ship on their own and made it to shore in the yachts tender, a 6 hour journey.

I don't know if this account is true but the youtube poster seems pretty credible.

A report I read said the CG arrived on scene after the crew and guest boatered the tender and escorted them to shore

I hope that is not a video production from a dishonest person or regime.

According to the crew comments reported in that video, that never happened. They're alleging they sailed in the tender some six hours to the mainland essentially rescuing themselves.

Hard to believe distress calls would go unanswered for 'hours,' but that's the allegation. Weird. There's scant information with respect to what freqs were being used and if they tried other emergency comms, like a SatPhone for instance. It's all very curious.

That YouTube channel has been around for years. The creator is a current crew member of a superyacht based in Monaco and has worked in the industry for decades.
