Does anybody know where the lighting control relays are on a 558 pilothouse? I have several lighting circuits which have two momentary on switches which must be going to a relay somewhere as all they can do is cause a pulse. Trying to find them as I have one that is acting up. Thanks
Your best bet is to contact the factory: https://www.inautia.com/nautical-business-34556010062554655049655768694566.html The only other way is to start tracing the wires from the switch.
Having just bought a 42 year old boat I need that...... Sort of knew they existed but didn't realize what a handy package they come in these days. Thank you, and ordered!
Yeah I'm tracing from the switch. Even pulled the oven out to see if they put them in a space back there. I've got it narrowed down to a fairly small area but wherever it is something has to come out to get to them. It may be ceiling panels. I have a tone generator that I use for work but that is for tracing telco wires and I'm not sure if that will work. Thanks for the link. Symbol went out of business after 2007. Not sure if there is anybody around anymore. I have the owners manual and the wiring schematic but it doesn't cover the lighting circuit. Also these may have been added later. The dimmer transformers in the staterooms are enclosed in a cedar box that is inside the closet adjacent to the switch. No area for a similar box for the 4 circuits in the wheelhouse / salon area.
Contact them on the website. They say they have been in business continuously since 1982. While Symbol may have gone out of business. I don't think the yard that built the boats went out of business. Just got out of the yacht market. It's common to put things under ceiling panels in yachts.
