The swamp is alive and well on all sides. That's why they need to hear from YOU. Covid-19 doesn't discriminate among political parties who it kills or whose business or life it will hurt.

Wrote both Michigan senators last night and asked them to get the deal done and leave out the usual Pork. Told them to leave the usual politics till later. They are holding the people and the country hostage while people are dying. Can't see it's done much good yet.

Well, I can only tell you from my experience in New Foundland (was 2, now 35 - no deaths), Iceland (was 32, now 648 - 2 deaths) and Panama (was 35, now 345 and 6 deaths). Most of those recovering suffered only from the season flu. Belize just reported to us the country shutdown last night with 1 case. And the country is a ghost town and the store shelves barren. But they are accepting food and fuel deliveries - which pleases my son who is on a tanker due to arrive tomorrow in PGIA.

Travelers from tri state area (NJ, CT, NJ) to FL now to quarantine for 14 days.

On the flip side the talk about responsibly getting some business going is increasing, especially in low incidence areas that can still get tested and have any cases isolated. (what a concept).

Meanwhile my exponential projections from earlier in this thread are happening, in fact faster than I thought.

New Orleans is screwed. Their count went from a few to 1500 in a week.... Let's see what happened there.... oh yea..... a million sweaty, drunk people from all over the world slobbering all over each other in February..... strap in folks, this may get very ugly.

Good on Chesapeake & Ghostrider , Again folks TODAY is the day ALL need to let their needs be known. Marina workers and owners, charter boat owners and crews, anybody who depends on the marine industries for their paycheck or their recreation. Today is the day. Any of us who've been around more than a few years know how fragile this industry is. We've been through downturns of all types before. This us worse. Today folks.

Yes I'm quoting myself but I can't edit it anymore..... the NOLA number I have is for the entire state of Louisiana, NOLA is approaching 600. Still the laws of mathematics are not looking good for either.

There was also a story on this morning about a couple in Az who had some hydroxychloroquine in their cupboard from their Koi. They took it. She's in critical and he's deceased. Let's all hold out hope, but we're still much testing away. The world is looking for a cure and a vaccine, but it's a long process under any circumstances. We must remain realistic and do what we can when we can. Today we can get money into the hands of those who need it and put pressure on our representatives to get our medical professionals what they need. I dare think some here could even make calls that would get answered.

They ingested hydroxychloroquine-phosphate. Aquarium cleaner. Minor detail. One Darwin award.

Here's the article on the official order...….and of course, got a call today to see if I can run a yacht back from the Bahamas to here ASAP. Flown over on a private plane and just run it back so it can be shipped out of here.

Neighbors are stuck in Bimini on a 45’ sailboat, can’t get permission to leave The Bahamas, or enter the US, not sure which it is, but they should be eating a lot of conch and drinking a lot of Kalik right now.

There is hope for a combination of Hydroxichloroquine and Azithromycin. However, there is no testing with scientific trial standards at this point, no trials, only a few instances and anecdotal results. The minimal tests I saw showed some benefit to Hydroxichloroquine alone but more when the two drugs used together.

Now, there are also side effects to these drugs and this combination. Since the possible help became known we have people in many countries to try one or both. Some claim it helped them. Unfortunately some also died from complications from the drugs.

As much as we need a treatment, we need one that really works, that doesn't have side effects that exceeds the benefit. We don't have any way of knowing if this will be it yet.

You don't need permission to leave the Bahamas......so if I were them, I would just leave......the U.S. cannot deny entry into the U.S. to an American citizen, they may make you quarantine yourself for 14 days, but they cannot refuse a citizen entry.

At least provide a link to those who died for your reason noted above, help to give it some context.

The problem with anecdotal reports of improvement or complication is the uncertainty as to whether the improvement is simply coincidental and with complications since the drugs are typically being given to acutely ill patients, is a serious complication or death simply due to the worsening of the disease. Just unknowns at this time. If the drugs are used the data must be shared to try and determine risks and benefits for wider use or to discard treatment.

On Sunday night I posted "2 weeks ago there wasn't a single case of Covid-19 on Long Island. Tonight's headline reads: Suffolk’s one-week coronavirus toll: 12 lives lost, confirmed cases rise from 41 to 1,034."

Today, 2 days later this was posted: "Suffolk County coronavirus update: 1,880 confirmed cases, 17 deaths." I just read a headline that said NYC residents have been advised to quarantine for 14 days, and many are heading for L.I. and the Hamptons. Our boating season starts in 3 weeks, and the vast majority of day trips head for waterside restaurants and communities.
