Going to be doing an interior redesign on my 2000 36 convertible. It was a little dated and the previous owner neglected the boat so it has a distinct musty smell to it. Replacing all the soft goods and carpet which is definitely holding the smell. Starting with the trim panels. Going from the awesome 2000 vintage pattern to a nice soft vinyl. Hopefully brighten up the interior too. Will continue to update with pictures as I go along

Also for got to note, using Killz on all the bare wood prior to re-upholstery. Doing everything to kill the smell. None of the wood was rotted but have found some water stains. Will also be addressing and potential water intrusion from the flybridge access ports

Don't you have a prior post going on rug vs wood? Just wondering why you didn't add to that.

that was not my thread but I do remember reading it....I’m not 100 percent decided but I am thinking of doing vinyl plank flooring. My wife prefers the rustic wood look over teal/holly. It is completely waterproof and easy to install. My only concern is weight and figuring out trimming around the stairs.

Look into an Ozone generator.... the one labeled "not for occupied spaces"..... Amazing what they will do.

But be careful not to overdo it because they can attack certain metals and such.

As for the wood flooring, they make ALL sorts of corner pieces and transition pieces to match the wood or vinyl you're installing. Like these for example:

Agreed and depends on concentration/duration. There are really small ones that are OK for occupied spaces. I have a big one that you set a timer for 45 minutes, close the door and then wait another hour for it to break down. So 2 hour "treatment". Did that once a week for a month in a basement that had flooded and it cleared things right up.

Update! Finished the panels in a decent vinyl my wife and I found at Joann Fabrics. Surprised to see the selection they have although we noticed it varies by store. The prices especially with the 65% off sale were great! Took some practice and patience but cane out ok. I wish I had the experience by the time I was done at the beginning of re-upholstery! Still have some adjusting on the panels in the boat

Looks great, you'd fall off of your chair if you found out what people charge for that in Fort Lauderdale.

Thanks! I can only imagine what a professional would charge, especially after the issues I ran into just removing and reinstalling the panels. That was definitely more challenging then the actual upholstery work. All the side panels were installed before the headliner and screwed inside the headliner prior to the headliner install. I also could not for the life of me figure out how the headliner was attached. I did manage to remove and reinstall the panels without removing the headliner but I had to cut some screws That were not accessible. Now I have to figure out securing everything properly

thanks! My wife thinks I went over board on the TV, haha!

I did have a plan in place though. I will be mounting a Raymarine camera looking forward and the TV can mirror Raymarine electronics. In THEORY I should be able to just look into the cabin and see what’s in front of me.
