Yes Sikaflex 295 is what I used on my three forward saloon windows; same as your problem , plus a leak or two. I raked out the old sealant the best I could with out removing the window. Taped the area off and ran 295 around and cleaned/smoothed it off with my wet finger . That was three years ago, and still holding well. It seems to last longer than 3M U.V. 4200 window goop..

Yeah Sikaflex tends to be the most popular.

SAMS Marine sells a paint you can paint over your old sealant to extend the life of it, you could try that instead of caulking, just make sure to tape the windows and boat so you have a nice line and no drips.

Capt J , when you can could you give a little more info on that paint ? I my want to get some of that. I can not find it on SAMS website.

Call them. It's some sort of rubberized paint, you want to thin it with some acetone (I think) and you just paint it on with a thin chipping brush. It seals the sikeflex (especially when it's bleeding and getting on clothes and stuff) and the boat I did it on, it has lasted several years.....probably 4 years so far.

Make sure you pour some in a small pint/quart brush pot and close the can, it dries very fast when it's hot out, so I had to periodically thin it. It went on easy though.

I got a quart coming to me from SAMS; It's called Impact Flexible Primer by Morton clear. Hatteras used it on their aluminum window frames and over the sealant. Was used to help seal the windows , but also stop the aluminum gray streak marks on the fiberglass/paint from run off water over the aluminum. $86.00....ugh I hope it works well.

Wait that dude built a glass boat out of that stuff and went shark fishing over the reef in that glass boat! I saw it on a T.V. flex seal commercial!

I'm intrigued by this stuff. Seems too easy. Could only find one web hit with little info. Keep us posted on how you make out.

I've used it, it works well. Key is taping both sides with blue tape, and thinning it and keeping it thinned enough for the right consistency. Pour it in a pint paint pot and thin as needed, I did apply it when it was 90F outside which might have to do with keeping it thinned.

I finally got around to using this stuff; but I can not use it. It's black , like black paint. I thought it was clear . My windows + trim is white.
