    I owned 1982 60' corsaro "Bravissimo " and completely restored her at Newport shipyard in Newport Beach California ,talk to Jessie he sourced a lot of riva parts for me,we added a 4' swim step on power lifts and redesigned the aft deck rail ,it made a huge difference in the appearance ,boarding and usability of the boat....Google " riva bravissimo" there is a YouTube my designer put up of the boat,, this was by far the best built boat I have ever owned , the quality of comments were second to none, I would guess the port holes and stainless hardware alone would cost $50k plus on these Rivas ,good luck with yours

    It's funny,

    I don't need to google that boat. I can see it from my slip in Sausalito :) I passed it his morning as I went out under the SF gate. I agree on the construction of Riva's. The stainless on the Superamerica is impressive. Good hull. Solid.

    Wow small world , I assume Peter probably still owns the boat, I also refit the the 51 blue water that's on the new sea wall next to the old travel lift and sold it about 18-24 months , it was the roomiest lightly constructed boat I have ever owned ,great big deck with a great view of the bay and city at high tide,I am sure it's probably still probably still there, their is also a guy named Alan that was in Florida that is really connected with riva ,he supplies a lot of parts for the old wood restorations and was able to get me a few things,he knew more about my boat and its history than I did when I bought it..

    Alan has been great. He broke down my boat as well. Apparently he installed the electric back in the day.

    There's also a great Riva book that breaks down all the series numbers and has original sales slips. It's pretty neat. So I know mine was one of the first 50 HPs.

    Hi there, i just recentlty bought a riva super america 50 ft of 1982 shes really in a bad condition, this riva is the one that has the radar arc in the middle made of pipes, does anyone has any photos original of this boat im trying to restore it to the max, i dont own a manual i dont know exactly from where the hoses pass true, even the wiring diagram any mecahnical and whatever help

    That would be the first 50 Super America. Then came the Special with radar arch and bigger 450hp Cummins engines. Then came the HP (high performance) in 87 with the radar arch being a bit lower to the special, stripes on the top sides window and having twin 510hp Man engines. Super America (42/45/48/50) is always the same hull but extended as the boat became longer.
    I was told it was a Napier hull (hence the name Super America) but I never found information confirming this as in the 70s and early 80s Riva was owned by Whittaker who also owned Bertram in the same time frame. Riva was sold to Rolls Royce Vickers in 87.

    Hello Riva lovers. I've become a new owner of a 1990 Riva Super America 50 HP with 510 HP double turbo V8 Man engines, Onan 12 KV generator. I'm practically lucky second owner of this boat. I purchased the boat in Marmaris in Turkey and she was completely in original stand. She needed some repair and some modernisation. Teak parts renewed, all electric lamps replaced with led lamps, engines and generator serviced etc. But nothing more. :) Engine hours are about 1220 hours on the clock. I'm very happy with the boat and I adore it's shape, incredibly elegant. :) Hope to have nice and comfortable tours soon in Eastern Mediterranean with my new boat. The boat has mooring in Setur Finike Marina in Turkey.

    Sounds great, congratulations. We run an impeccable Riva Coral 45, which basically is a Superamerica 45 with Superamerica 50 cockpit. We absolutely love the shape and design of these yachts and it is always good for a thumbs up or nice conversation. Enjoy! (have no doubt you won’t)

    I recently bought a Riva 48 Superamerica and I am happy to report some data. would love to connect with current Riva 48 Superamerica owners to exchange tips and advice.

    Original Riva 48 Superamerica shipped with 2x Cummins 903M 425 hp engines, 3 or 4 blade propellers with the following specs: 585 x 590, 70% area coverage, max speed was claimed 26 knots. The one I got has upgraded 6CTA8.3 engines and more powerful propellers, 570 x 690, 95% coverage and makes 31 knots at 2575 max rpm's. The top speed looks good but the boat idles at 6 knots which is not ideal when docking.

    The boat came with many original fittings such as a (working) autopilot circa. 1987 with a Loran inteface, nmea 0180 data connectivity, a working original refrigeration system (compressor installed in the engine room), etc. I will be upgrading the systems over time but if anyone is looking to rebuild with the original look, feel free to contact me.
