Lots of Marlow comments thru the years here on YF.
Maybe a sore subject with some members. Some like them.
Please search thru YF for more Marlow comments.

surprised I haven't seen a fleming 65 listed as I have been following tony fleming videos and boat seems pretty stable and well built.also very expensive.

I don't see many Flemings. But have always heard very good things about them as a brand. The one biggest downside I've heard is they don't and won't build a full beam master.

The 65 has a full beam master. The one downside I have read about is they are way overpriced but high quality

I have had 2 Marlows last 5 years and still own one , so my experience is ownership of actual yachts. I run my boats about 200 hrs a year cruising in Fl and Bahamas. Never head a problem with them suns for usual maintenance of a lot of complex equipment and teak wood. Marlow is using top of the line gear on their boats and quality materials. Fit and finish excellent, innovative design, shallow draft of 5 ft for a large motoryacht. Love the skegs protecting props especially in SWFL. My first Marlow was build in 2006 and second in 2012. They are all custom boats, therefore you may find examples of some with design issues because buyers have requested design change and paid for it. As always well maintained boats are the best choice even for the older examples.

Obviously, not all Marlow's have issue's, but some do. I had a bad experience dealing with them at Palmetto, Fl. Won't rehash the details but left there knowing we would not get locked into a boat that required us to take to their facility for design or construction issues. We wasted a fair amount of our time and money surveying and doing a botched sea trial for a 02 Marlow 65 at their facility under their care that was claimed to be in top condition ready to go, being far from being the truth. I had to tell them what was wrong with their boat and by then lost all confidence. I kept the file to remind me how muddy the waters can be when buying a large used boat. Glad that your experience is better.

I ran a new 56' at the time (around 2014) from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to load on a ship. It was a very moderate sea state with 2-4' off of the starboard stern quarter. So we're doing 16 knots at cruise on autopilot and it pitched so bad on one wave, it almost ejected everyone off of the flybridge and nothing that another very seasoned Captain nor I had ever seen. An igloo cooler (that holds maybe 10 drinks) flew from one side of the flybridge and hit the other side of the bridge without ever touching the floor. Also saw lots of weird ways to mount and run things in the engine room.

Your talking about a Marlow or Fleming.
We made a Fleming delivery years ago. I may have commented on YF about the ride then. Just as you described, Stern Quarter just a few feet the boat was very uncomfortable. Stabilizer was bouncing max both ways and the AP lost it a few times.
Pretty boat. All held together well.

We were surprised that a newer and big ticket ship would ride so poorly. OR we were so darn spoiled to our OLD low-tech Bertram MY that never had this issue.

Mine was a new Marlow. From my experience the Asian MY hull designs are the worst of the bunch as a whole in the under 100' segment in both performance and ride. Euro MY hull designs are the best as a whole, US hull designs are not too far behind them, then the Asians are a definite step below both as a whole.

Capt J, you must be mixing models. Marlow never had 56' model in their product line.

It was the 58' actually and had an open flybridge with fiberglass hard top.
