I definitely wouldn't want to be the one making the call to the insurance Co or the owner

I don’t think somebody loosing their boat, no matter how big the boat or are wealthy they are is a laughing matter.

Come on my friend, It's a novelty, That's why you posted it.
If all are safe, then it does have a point of humor...
On your side, A shame of a nice boat trashed.

The company which was contracted for the shipping of the sailing yacht My Song was Peters and May. The yacht was being shipped onboard the cargo vessel MV BRATTINGSBORG. The cargo ship was caught in a storm in the Mediterranean, Balearic sea and lost the sailing yacht.

Thanks for the information, TK. Now the bigger question is going to be who the insurer is.

In my experience with vessel transporters their insurance deductible is 10% which in this case could be substantial.

I don't believe the deductible for marine cargo insurance for a EUR 30 million yacht will be that high. I believe it will be in the range of EUR 75k - 150k. From experience the deductible is around 0.25% to 0.4% of the insured value.

We had a claim with yacht path for about $75K of which $55K deductible was applied. Based on $5.5 M total value. So yes that's more like 1%. I'm going from memory and mine isn't very good.
