I cannot figure out how to empty the sanitation tank it is a demotic sanitation unit any help would be appreciated
It would help if you d tell us what kind of boat you have... Dometic just manufacture the heads, pumps etc but installation is done by the builders. You should have a deck fitting so you can pump out and usually an overboard discharge pump to empty the tank when you are 3 miles from shore and outside a no discharge zone like Long Island sound, Great Lakes etc. But without telling us what boat it is, it s impossible to tell you more
I apologize I thought it was in that big quote it is a 48-foot Fairline Targa 2000 year it has a pump out on Deck when you attempt to walk pump out nothing nothing comes out the unit is full unable to find the discharge work for pump or switch
If you are sure that dock pump out works, make sure that you have a tight fit for the hose. Any leak will prevent stuff from being pumped out. Follow the hose between the holding tank and the deck pump out fitting. Some boats have a valve on the tank or a Y valve to send output either to the deck pump out or to the onboard pump / macerator
Thank you I will research that on your description can't find the Y valve though but I will check the hose for leaks
If the dock pump-out was working... A plugged vent could cause the pump to not work... Shouldn't be any switches or valves required for pump-out via the on-deck fitting. Switches and valves would more likely only be applicable to an overboard macerator pump and the thru-hull it uses to discharge when legal. The builder could have used a T instead of a Y for the discharge outlet; in that case both the on-deck pump-out fitting and the overboard macerator might be "receiving" effluent via that T, no Y valve required (but there would be a thru-hull valve for the macerator discharge). -Chris
