My Eskimo icemaker has quit working. I'm positive the auger 230v electric motor is bad and possibly the evaporator auger bearings, etc. It quit on me this year in the Bahamas. Checked with Dometic and they don't stock or make all the parts for these older units anymore. He said the motor is about $1250. The refrigeration side is fine. Anyone have a person they recommend that can repair this unit.
    Thanks, Skip

Still looking for other companies that may rebuild these units. They don't have to be in FL will ship if necessary.

Maybe, but I found Martins Marine in Wilmington NC that says he has all parts for these units and rebuilds them regularly. It would seem if you pay over 11k in 2006 the unit should still be repairable 12 yrs later. My ac units are still running strong.

A friend recommended Neville Edwards Refrigeration in Stuart that builds there own icemakers. Neville worked for Eskimo at one point before they were acquired by Dometic. His units weigh about 1/2 what mine weighs at 140lbs and produce the same amount of ice. What was great he was able to repair my E1600 unit with parts he had around the shop. Highly recommend if you need some refrigeration help in your vessel.

Neville has been in the cold air / frozen water business for along time along with his brother Angus. First used his services in St. Thomas USVI in the '80's where Neville and his brother Angus had a shop . These two have forgotten more than most know about the marine business. Angus opened a refit shipyard in Bayou La Batre, AL. Angus Yachts.
