    Lot's of boats now have backup cameras for obvious reasons.
    My question is how many are doing it with wireless IP cameras. If so are you experiencing any latency issues?
    Are they reverse image?

    My application is typical but I don't have any way to get any wiring from my bridge to the back of the aftdeck hardtop. I can grab some 12vdc from a light back there so that's covered.

    Don't need a camera. My wife and wireless headsets works well for us!:)

    Okay in the name of levity,,,what do headphones have to do cameras.
    If I wanted to ask about headphones the title would say that. ;-)

    I have wired IP cams. I don’t think latency will be an issue with quality wireless IP cams.

    Finding one with the widest possible lens to show both corners of the stern can be hard, or you may need two cameras.

    I actually found a Speco HT71TW that is only 2.25" in diameter. Installed one on each side of the aft deck about 8ft forward of the transom, next to the wing doors and one on the middle of the transom.
    I actually ended up being able to put in wired units so latency is no longer an issue.
    Very happy with quality of these cameras.

    MBevins, I'm looking at moving up to another boat as soon as I sell mine, and a lot of the boats I look at on line have some sort of visual obstruction blocking your view of the entire stern of the boat and what's behind you. It's a drag. My current boat is wide open , with a lower aft deck and no hard top easy to see like a sport fish...Anyway how does your camera system work? Do you have to look at three different images at the same time or just one at a time? Seems like I will have to put on of these in my next boat as I buy older boats.

    I'm still actually in the start-up phase of this project. But the plan is to have multiple views available and select the one I want.
    As an example.
    While backing into the well with one dock ilI' select a full screen of the dock side as i don't really care about the other side. If docking into a tighter well I'd like to split the screen and ignore the middle or transom camera.
    That's the plan, we'll see how it goes in the spring when I get to actually use it.
