if you've got cat c32s I'm sure you have realized how much of a pain replacing a raw water impeller is in that engine that big sherwood 30000k gave me so much hassle and I came across a guy that makes a tool for installing this impeller in the pump. Its a little pricey but its without a doubt the best specialty tool I've ever purchased. Check out this video I made of it working

I have watched these videos. It looks like a cool idea.
After servicing 3412s , C32s and other front loaded Sherwood impellers, it's a gimmick tool. Usually enough room to lean into the impeller and In She Goes..
Sadly, there is not enough room on the rear serviced (straight 6s) Sherwood PIAs for this tool to be of help.

I have used cut and modified plastic funnels for the same results on Yanmar's and other small impeller projects.
Naw, some punk with a wishing idea don't get my money with out his scar & blood investments.

BTW, Ole Sherwood pumps suck. Putting SeaMax in everywhere when we can (Cummins). Shops time is better protected.

    More BTW,
More SFB owners out there will not tell you they have replaced one of their Shercould pumps,, New spline pattern will drive you and your estimates mad.

On hard impellers, I have zipped tied them for a smaller circumference......super lube on the shaft and pump body and in they go.

Zip ties, hose clamps. Always a PIA when working blind (Cummins 6 again).
I've even tried piston ring compression tools with some good results.
Lube up the pump and first of impeller. Clean hands and clean back of impeller, twist and get that spline started.
You can not do this with lube or oil on your hand.
