    Same Ulstei yard.

Must be a real benefit to the X-bow.

Really interesting design. I don't know if I like it yet or not but it will be interesting to see in person.

But the USCG did not and rejected this bidder early in their Offshore Patrol Cutter program.

Great design for station keeping at offshore oil platforms, as the slamming loads at the bow are minimized in big seas. It is different, which if you got big bucks, is an attractive option to get away from the cookie cutter mega-yacht crowd. Interesting note, Ulstein has applied the same design to the transom of one of their commercial vessels, so you can double-up on this feature: https://ulstein.com/innovations/x-stern

I think video is a fairly clear demonstration that the design does indeed work:

Also, given how many of the current generation of racing monohulls also have a similarly shaped bow - albeit to a much lesser degree - there's gotta' be something do that design.

Definitely looks good in the rough seas as compared to the regular hull of the other ship and more stable.

I don't believe this is the new yacht under construction but they have an 88.5m Espen Oeino design due for 2018.

Hope they decide to go with filling fairing and high gloss topcoats on the exteriors..

Is it finished? I thought they just shipped the hull over at the beginning of this year.

The outside looks quite finished (though I am not sure about the paint job), no idea about the interior.

I poked around and based on the photos I saw, it looks like a lot of the windows are still boarded up. I think this was sold in 2016 so I wouldn’t be surprised if this really won’t be completed until 2019. She also might be like the two Ulysses vessels and end up in Germany for outfitting.

Ulstein first private yacht is named Olivia O. There are more recent sea trail photos of her on the internet.
