Way up the Miami river. The aircraft traffic is from Wilcox MIA. I don't recognize that bridge but has to be close to the original Bertram shop.
Yep, you drag boats up here to die.

Die/scrap or reef material is where this poor girl needs to go. Shame, she WAS a cutie.

Thanks for sharing the video. So what are you planning on doing at this point? Purchase and start a huge project, or keep looking?

I'm not stating she is not pretty. Maybe cheaper to buy a used one without a history.
Salvage will make more/faster profit than flipping her.
    This is NOT a Whitcraft

You want to spend time and money on wet boats.
We have tried to encourage you out of it.
    Good luck in your projects.

It's my opinion that if you try to rebuild the NordFjord it will be an ongoing never ending expensive problem.

This picture here says it all.

Sounds like you have repaired one boat, and it is floating and feels like a good experience, and you want to do another. Perhaps you are thinking you can make money buying damaged boats and repairing and flipping them. It is possible, there are people making money doing it. If I run across a boat I think I can buy and repair for less than it will be worth, I'll likely buy it. My best friend restores mahogany boats, he makes money, but he is one of the best in the world and has a shop and crew. It would be nice if you are highly skilled and highly motivated to do an excellent job with the boats, that would be rare and welcome.

The boating industry is tough to make money in. It is packed with very talented and motivated people, focused mainly on doing the cheapest possible job to make the most money from unsuspecting boaters. If you are trying to do a quality job, you will be competing with a lot of scammers who will make you look like you are charging way too much and trying to rip people off. If you are trying to do the cheapest repairs and pass them off as quality, you will be in a very crowded market. It is hard to tell which way you are headed with your efforts.

The advice you are getting here is from people who have seen a lot in this industry. Some of the comments you have posted indicate you aren't as experienced or knowledgeable as many of the posters here. You have come to the right place to ask your questions and bounce ideas, you are getting very valuable information, even if it sounds a bit insulting. That is the nature of internet forums everywhere, we are here to entertain ourselves.

Yes Thanks for the share of the video and update etc.. I did appreciate it. She was a nice boat. I wonder when they made the transit from Puerto Rico to Miami? What ship/barge did that?

A friend of mine has a 58 Hatteras MY (1980) which suffered minor damage during Irma To my surprise, the adjuster declared the boat a total loss. Boat is in great shape, constantly upgraded by an ana... I mean meticulous, owner. Not holed, not sunk. Had a little water in the port ER (up to the shaft) Boat will need to be repainted. Apparently the quotes were done at an expensive yard and amount to insured value.

It s a great buy if someone moves quickly before she is moved from the repair yard on the Miami river to a storage facility.

I know the boat and inspected her before she was towed to yard

PM me for details and contact info

What is the name of the boat? I used to run one of those, it had blue marble counter tops in the galley.

Kool - wow a sailboat. The whole story is just to bad. I am glad nobody was hurt or lost. Boats are replaceable. Good luck with the Viking. Sounds like a good find. Keep us posted.
