    Why on
Do you have ANY idea what it will cost just to rewire that entire vessel, then you have all of the interior, the machinery.....etc....... it will cost far more to rebuild it properly than buy a good used one......Labor is incredibly more to rebuild a boat or refit it, than the trained employees at the factory are getting.

How is it structurally sound if it had a 6'x6' hole in the bottom?

If he does not have a good idea of what it will cost, he soon will. There is rarely any value to raise and refit; but there people who will try anything.

It sounds like he is considering this a DIY project. Perhaps he's a marine electrician and mechanic and plumber and upholsterer and metals fabricator and carpenter and ship-builder, with the huge amount of special tools and time and helpers and his own shipyard for this project. And he just bought some lottery tickets. Could be.

People are doubtful because experience keeps a dear school.

"floating and looks reall good" does not mean the vessel has a positive dollar value if you balance the time/money put into it from finding it, raising it, cleaning, identifying issues and rectification.
However, if you are making money doing this or it's good for your soul then more power to you!

Reminds of the redo on the original 70 Delta Zopilote which sank after hitting an uncharted reef in Alaska. Was salvaged and completely rebuilt to live a second life, it can be done!
