Twos Enuff is to be renamed Avida. She has been sat in Galveston Texas for at least two years which meant that the plan to bring her back to Florida on her own bottom was not so practical. I am yet to even see the boat...... yes I bought a boat sight unseen!!!!!! I put a post up on Uship and found a guy who has already shipped the same type of Huckins from California (I'm curious which one) to Florida. He picks up my Huckins in a few days. I'm planning a running restoration so we get to enjoy her while spending money on her restoration. But of course there are essential items to be addressed. The engine room hatches are rotten as well as the cross beam supporting them. The transducer has soft spots around it. Antifouling etc etc Genset is missing a starter and does not turn Mains need routine maintenance Flush fuel tanks Flush water tanks I'm sure this list will grow substantially after I finally get to see the boat.
Latest update: All double blanking repairs on the hull complete and glassed. Awaiting antifouling New engine room hatches and frames complete. Also sound insulation installed. New 20kw Northern Lights genset installed. Exhaust not yet installed. All rotted decking, combing and trim cut out, replaced and glassed where needed. New bench forward built and glassed New windows, many of which had new frames built and the sliding windows modified to drain better. Fuel tanks drained and cleaned. Basic electronics installed Engines serviced Fresh water plumbing replacement underway I'm sure I've missed countless items but wanted to give you all an update.
Chris, I just removed your hot-linked image and replaced the pic as an attachment, which permanently resides on our server. You've been a member at YF long enough to know this. We don't allow hot-linked images because the host can change the image to something less benign. If you visit other forums, you'll will often find placeholders on old threads because accounts have been cancelled or abandoned by the member hotlinking the image. Thanks!
Quick update. It's been a while but this week we plan to splash after a hopefully successful insurance survey. After the splash it'll be an 1100 mile trip to florida.
