I just did some research on the owner, Robert Mercer, and found out he was instrumental in getting Trump elected, which in socialist Seattle, would go over like a pregnant polevaulter so now your comment makes perfect sense.

A lot biased but, this is one of the best overall cruising areas of the world. Some very impressive yachts visiting regularly.
Sept. is the ultimate time of the year for me, with most anchorages having tons of room, warm days and cool nights and all of the PNW right at our door step!

Luckily, with her name covered, she blends really well with all the other green yachts...

I don't think it will get confused with any other green-hulled superyacht cruising around in the Pacific Northwest.
September is usually the busiest time of year around here for yachts, here's what's in town right now, the 87 foot "Lady Alice", the 115 foot "Hotei" and the 150 foot "Elisa":

    Hi JimmyL,
I'm new to boating, thinking of mooring a Yacht at Maple Bay on Vancouver Island all year around, is this a good spot to use as a base?

Yes it's a decent location, however it's a bit of a drive to ferries and airport. maybe worth looking at Oak Marine group in Ladysmith or depending on your budget, Sidney has a few Marinas really close to ferry and airport.

    Hi Dennismc,
Yes it is, I'll have look at Oak Marine Group in Ladysmith. Hoping to keep the same price range as Maple Bay. I thought I would leave a car to handle the distance from Maple Bay!
    Appreciate your input.
    Cheers

I'm moored with OB Marine Group at North Saanich Marina. Best location all around for access to U.S. San Juan's, southern gulf islands, BC mainland and going north. Ladysmith is nice but I find it half way to the north and the south. Good thing is as a member of OBMG you have access to all their marina's. (Ladysmith, NS marina, OB marina and Pedder Bay)

    Thanks JimmyL,
I'll have a look at OBMG as well.

    Hey JimmyL,
Checked the Wx at North Saanich Marina today: 9*C & light rain. What's the WX like there ie how long typically is comfortable boating/cruising?
    Cheers
