    Feadship has uploaded a video for Vanish on their site, inlcuding glimpses of the interior. Very nice.

    Nice find! Very nice interior. I saw a post by Feadship sometime back that they just finished with the photo shoot. I assume we will also see interior photos coming as well.

    Hasna is now out of the shed. She very much looks like she was based on Mogambo with heavy influences of Vava II.

    Apparently she has two guest bedrooms on the lower aft deck between the engine room and the beach club which itself is spread around the structure of the pool (which appears to have glass panels in it). I really hope Feadship nailed the sound proofing in the engine room.

    It sounded like all the guest accommodations were on the lower deck aft. It's pretty common to have the the guest accommodation down there. Why would good sound proofing be any different with this layout?

    The location of the guest area on the lower deck aft of the engine room can be seen more often on Dutch designed and built larger yachts. It has its pros and cons. But most of the time, they squeeze only one or two cabins between the aft engine room bulkhead and the aft lazarette or beach club.

    But by placing the complete guest area aft of the ER plus a beach club in the stern, the engine compartement has to be pretty far forward, which makes on conventional engine setups very long shafts. Sound insulation makes no difference, its either the forward wall or the rear wall of the engine room. The additional noise associated with aft low guest areas is the prop and shaft noise and the slapping noise of water under the raised rear part of the hull (when on anker). The prop noise can be significant, especially with cavitation or during DP operations, when you sleep in that part of the hull.

    As far as the yachts layout is concerned, the aft low guest area will place most of the time the staircase within the main salon. On classed boats associated with some additional constructual effort.

    But the main disadvantage with this setup is with the crew. On typical yachts in the 40 to 80 meter range, the engine room covers two decks, mostly the tank top and the lower deck. Which means, with the crew quarters and their social facilities in front of the ER on the lower and tank top deck, they have to cross the engine room for each service into the guest area (which is not desirable most of the time, if at all) or even worse, it means stairs up to main deck and back down to the guest area aft of the ER. That hampers the flow of work on board and crews do not like that.

    One of the other reasons for locating the guest area on the lower deck in the middle of the hull, it is the minimum movement area of the hull, as a hull moves around its center of gravity.

    The most common setup, which developed over the years, wanted by owners, guests and crew is, crew in the front with their recreational facilities on the tank top (if the tank top has full height) followed by the guest area, engine room over two decks and tender garage plus lazarette or beach club aft of the ER. This division is also marked by watertight bulkheads with watertight and fire resitant doors between each of those areas.

    Just have a look on the GAP of the Luerssen yacht Solemates and try to relocate the guest area aft of the engine room. That would make construction of that yacht and living on it much more difficult.

    On bigger boats there are much more possibilities, like tender garage in the bow, guests on main deck with a dedicated owner deck above, etc., etc.

    The optimum layout of a larger yacht devides the different areas, i.e. crews and its facilities, guests with their facilities, owner area, technical and command areas clearly with the possibility for the crew for shortest ways with dedicated hallways and staircases for their services being unseen by owner and guests and it will give both parties maximum privacy. All other amenities are optionals.

    A new yacht has emerged from the sheds of Sheepswerft SLOB in Papendrecht. It is Feadship's new hull 700. It is an 87-meter and will be transported to Feadship's Aalsmeer yard.

    The traditional-looking Feadship that was last known under the name "Seaflower" has reemerged from refit. She now carries the name "Cipitouba" and the 40-meter yacht was in refit since September 2016 at the Makkum yard. Key upgrades included new generators, exhaust gas filters, a new electrical power management system and a new alarm and monitoring system. A number of makeovers were done to key rooms onboard and cosmetic changes were made on the interior to give a fresh look. Below is a photo of Cipitouba back in the water.

    There is a new Feadship under construction. It is classic gentleman's style yacht. It appears to be around 47-meters mabye although I do not have a precise LOA.

    According to Dutch Yachting she is 51-meter as you stated. Here is some additional information they provided in the description of the video.

    "YN701, also known as Project Promise, was launched yesterday morning at Feadship’s subsidiairy Slob in Papendrecht. YN701 has a length of 51m/ 167’3” and a beam of 10.2m/ 33’5”. The yacht will have an interior by Bannenberg & Rowell Design when completed".
