    The Seajet Emperor I meantioned on that thread is made for ally hulls.

    The yacht is in New Zealand sailing and motoring speed 7 to 8 knots. I have previously used Jontun. Would like to get information on other options

    Are you referring to Jotun? What didn't you like about it? Or what are you looking to do differently?

    Hello everyone,

    I'm reconditioning the Seachest boxes for cooling water intake, so they are always full of sea water. The material is aluminium. My plan is to clean it from old paint as good as I can,sand the bare aluminium and then apply etching primer and couple of coats of the same antifouling, which we use for the hull, Nubian 50. What do you think about that? Shall I use something between etching primer and antifouling?

    Wouldn't you be better off with some kind of barrier coating to the sea chest?

    Be sure the aluminum is totally free of scratches. pitting and imperfections and old coatings, otherwise what you put on will come off in places, your barrier coat should be minimum 12mills thickness before any copper based paint goes on.

    Interprotect barrier coat from Interlux/Azko Nobel maybe.
