Just guessing but will knock about 7/8 knots off your WOT.

    UMMMMM no. Maybe a knot.

Disadvantages are some extra weight, boat will rock a touch more, not a lot of outdoor space if you prefer outdoors.

Advantages, totally sealed from elements, a/c and heat, only need 1 set of electronics and no need for a lower station for 99% of owners so more usable interior space. Quieter on the bridge when underway and less sun exposure.

No significant difference in speed, a knot at th most... certainly not 7!

more weight may indeed increase rolling a little although I don't think it's significant

I ve grown to really like skylounges. You re out of the elements, no leaky soft enclosures, no FB to clean and dry after a rain shower. Yes you loose some exterior space but with a decent size aft deck it s not a big deal. This is also less of a problem on bigger boats (over 70/75) as you still have a lot of outside space behind the skylounge. The 84 Lazzara skylounge I run has a nice settee Rea with table and chait, electric grill, fridge, etc... under an awning.

And has capt J mentioned, you eliminate the need for a lower helm saving space on the main deck

Were on a 72 Hat with sky lounge and sun roof.
Still looking for that dry environment.
Never watched factory installed Naiads swing so far in a river (St-Johns) in a chop, mid beam wind.

I'd rather own a boat with enclosed fly bridge, but would be hesitant to charter one again. You loose a lot of space for boats under 100.

Of course this has all been solved w tri decks.
