I have a small sailing boat with an aux electic engine. I thouhgt about expanding my radius with an mobile gen set, if I end up somewhere without electricity... (and no wind). Do you have any experience with the Champion mobile gen sets? Sepcially the smaller ones, 1000/2000W?

    thx

Get a Honda. A few extra bucks but well worth it.

    Honda is great.
I will ad my nomination for Yamaha as well.
    Bulletproof in my experience.

Yes, Yamaha is just as good but better parts availability and resale with Honda. Also can link 2 2000 watt Honda's together.

I have a Yamaha and it has been great. Certainly can't wrong with a Honda either. I also have a friend with one of the newer Champions and he loves it. It is within 1 or 2 db of the sound level of the Yamaha/Hondas but was about 40% less cost than my Yamaha. It really boils down to what your most critical factors are: cost, reliability, sound level, etc. If the added cost is not a big factor I would go Honda or Yamaha.
