Hi Everyone, I'm new to YachtForums, and photography is a hobby of mine. I've recently gotten into taking pictures of yachts. I saw a Chris Craft boat in Northport, Michigan in June 2016. The boat's name is 'Amara' and registration was (MC 1980 KP). I need some assistance with identifying what model this. I believe this might be a custom built Chris-Craft. I've gotten pictures of a 36 West Indian, 42 Commander, 310/350/381/480 Catalina, and 500 Constellation. I've not been able to find anything about 'Amara' online. I have attached pictures of 'Amara' below. Thank you for the assistance. brianphoto
Looks like a 50' Constellation Flush Deck ...early 1960's ...'61 or '62 maybe. Or could be a 55' can't tell from the angle.
Thank you RER! I think it is either '61 or '62 as well, but I have not been able to match one exactly to this design. The back of the boat is what makes me think it was a custom boat compared to other '61 constellation 50s I've seen online. Here are 2 more shots of the side of it:
Thank you for the response SeaEric! Yes, 'Amara' was a beauty in Northport, Michigan. Do you know if there are any books or website databases that have information about the Chris Craft 55' Constellation production and other models produced after 1970? I would like to find out if there is more information about 'Amara' out there. I saw there is a "Chris Craft: The Essential Guide." I believe this book covers from the beginning until early 1970s. Please let me know. Thanks, brianphoto
