    Thx.
    Will do.
Asked the dealer if they wax and detail the boats before delivery.
Well, yes, they clean and detail somewhat but the boats are already waxed from the factory before shipping, said the Sales Manager.
Running my fingers over the gelcoat it felt pretty dry.
Asked them how much for a pre-delivery wax job, he said $450.
Should probably do it myself while the thing is on the hard. It would be good excersize and Odin knows I need some of that..

Congratulations . I was beginning to think you would never find a boat worthy of your plans. Good Luck.

    Thx.
Yeah, I had The same thoughts myself. Had to kiss a few frogs before I found this little power cat.
Took her home to daddy today in rain and thunderstorms. Glad I opted for the astroglass enclosure, dry ride and the owner was snug as a bug in a rug.
First boat I have ever owned with a windshield wiper, what a luxury..
Will dry it out tomorrow, do a quick inventory and apply Name and Hailing Port to the stern. Then a river ride.
    All is well.

See...already it's shown it's right as you had a nice comfortable ride and your windshield wiper.

Never getting any smarter, that train left the station 43 years ago when I decided to go to sea instead of going to college.

Not so fast, "a boy and his windshield wiper sounds a bit condescending."
Just because I sailed in all kinds of weather without a dodger or a pilot-house protection from the elements over the years, does not mean I am the boy with a new concept: The windshield wiper.
Been working and skippering boats with wipers, air condition, microwave Owens, power-windlass'es, over the years.
This is Juat the first time any of that wimpy stuff has been important enough for me to pay for it.
A bit surprised I did it, but again, I am getting old, lazy or soft, or all of the above.

Smarter, he can now get to where he's going in mere hours instead of days, and not get a free saltwater shower in the process!

    When was she mine?
Well, we closed the purchase 2-3 days ago.
    Financing closed 4-5 days ago.
I took delivery yesterday. Nasty weather with a warm-front in the morning followed by a cold front in the afternoon.
A good beginning with heavy rain and thunderstorms all day.
Hence my comment about a windshield wiper in front of my face.
First time on a boat I have ever owned, being young, strong and stupid I have never needed or wanted no windshield wiper. Vikings need no stupid wipers:)

The name of the vessel is "Odin".
The name was applied this morning under the distress of a slight hang-over.
Will post pictures tomorrow, too dark now.

Aye Capt. J, you are kind of right: Smarter may be the correct description, but not the happy description:
Back in the day when I sailed in all kinds of weather, not knowing what I was doing and with no dodger or Bimini top, and sailing or rowing my dink as an outboard was not in the budget, I was quite happy, strong and horny.
Now of course I am smarter, have more money, a brand new boat with Air-Condition, autopilot, windshield wiper, whatever.
Would trade all that stuff for going back 30 years to my first boat in St. Croix and my uh, passion.
Yes, smarter but lazier and older.
Not sure if it is a good trade-off...? :D

Norseman, I believe you indicated you are around 59 - that's middle aged for a pirate. With the proper measures of rum you should be carried into your 90's quite easily. Hope your Yamahas last that long. Enjoy your new acquisition, you will finally be making those across the bay dinner ressies on time.

Hmm, yes. 59 and change. The young girls of course (and Judy) thinks I am only half that.
90's be nice, unless I have to wear diapers and somebody's teeth.
The Yamahas should last a long time.
I tend to look after my stuff.

(Big understatement, bought my last sailboat for $40k. Sold it 14 years later for $54k. After having spent $70k on upkeep, repairs and upgrades)
I want to buy my next boat from me...

Hi, didn't mean it as a dig, just a term of contentment, like a boy and his dog, happy.
