    Can anyone tell me if there is a 671TI marine service manual available on CD or download?

    Try to google it but I doubt it, otherwise call your local DD dealer. service notices are an issue with cd's etc..

    13 years ago, I started building up a great 71 & 92 manual library. Paper & CDs.
    E-Bay can be your friend.

    If you want a real cool library for your ship, take your serial numbers to a DDC shop, they can sell you the part list used in building your motors.
    Few bux more, it can come with the IPB (illustrated part breakdown).
    My local DD shop keeps me up on any special notes before I start any large projects. Of course I buy my parts from them.
    This same DD shop gets first call on any major DD & JD work also.

    Thank you K1W1. I may buy the Detroit Diesel-71-Inline Service Manual just for the cover art !

    The basic engine arrgt for Marine and Highway/Off Highway are all pretty much the same for any given series.

    The majority of these when used as marine engines were "marinised" by the supplying dealer so there will always be some differences between the various components coolers/pumps etc between brands.

    I bought the cd on ebay and as I suspected was an old version 1989 with no service bulletins past 1989, have advised the seller and says he will modify the ad to reflect that issue. I do have the hard cover manuals up to date but the cd is handy for quick reference tear down etc.

    I am sure thru the first 30 years of manufacturing of these engines, there may have been a few changes. After that you still pull thing apart and put them together the same way. These ole engines have been around a long time. Other than part number changes, I can not imagine much has changes.
    Every time I order a part, my DD shop informs me of any part number change, what changes were made (sometimes why) and what other parts are recommended to help complete the service. Technology in shaft seals are a great example. Maybe an updated blower drive shaft. But again, my DDC parts guy fills me in to the latest scoop.
    The IPB (illustrated part break down) or exploded views are great. The same torque specs, tune up specs and more that has not changed much since 1989.
    If there is a subject that you really want detail on, it probably won't be in the manual anyway. YF & U Tube are our friends.
