    The owner had the habit of leaving anchored (Bareboat) near the port, the first storm tore it apart on the rocks (October 2015)



    As a general rule, never let an anchored ship without crew...

    Or have a hell of good anchor and know how to use it.:confused:

    I was going to say, anchors are designed to dig into the mud or silt. I wonder what happened here.

    Does anyone know why he anchored there instead of berthing in the harbor?

    Until he lost his cat it was probably a substantial cost savings.

    I guess he also probably felt anchoring in that small bay was a safe idea because he probably thought it offered some (not a lot) of protection from high chop. Too bad for him.
