Has anyone ever had problems towing an Everglades as their tender? Any problems with high seas, or leaking in the hull?
No, I know of several yachts towing them. I think Scout makes a better all around tender 30'<, a lot better seating arrangements and etc.
We were not impressed with the quality of the Scout, but love the looks. I am more interested in has anyone had problems or issues with waves/water compromising the electrical or engines while towing in high seas.
No, we tow all of the time, the big boat breaks down the seas pretty good and the small boat is riding in the prop wash. I even run a 52' Searay sedan bridge that we tow a 24' Robalo with 2-200 Honda's.
Not impressed with the quality of Scout? Just out of curiosity - what qualities were you not impressed with? Aesthetics, fit/finish, ride?
Have a friend that is on their 2nd one for towing, he is happy. We tow a 32' Whaler and it tows straight as an arrow, no need to put motors down to keep it tracking straight. BTW- I know of several yachts that got Scout's because of the look and amenities, they have all had huge problems (electrics, computer, holding up) and have gotten rid of them a better quality tender.
I know there's a large group who love to tow. I do feel compelled to point out some data I recently read. The number one cause of insurance claims against yacht insurance-towed boats.
