On the hard getting ready for New York! All four items which were deficient in the survey are taken care of- fire ext needed yearly inspection, flares were expired, ER fire suppression system needed to be certified and system shutdown proved. // New hot water heater to be installed. Bottom paint- this year it's the "Carolina Job" which is the sides, bottom near the bow, and stern; last year the whole bottom was painted. Prop speed on the main struts as the white bottom paint didn't hold up as well as I wished it would have. Pulpit scratches fixed and painted, we got hit while in the slip. New green paint around second deck, whole boat professionally buffed. New updated name!

We are back in the water and getting the hull topsides professionally detailed then back to Sailfish for a day or so before we depart for NY. Wish me an uneventful voyage!

Gen set cooling system service time and I installed a new raw water pump, new exhaust elbow, new thermostat, drained the coolant and flushed it then new coolant and hot tanked cleaned the heat exchanger. New holding tank evacuation pump as well.

I took it to a radiator shop for cleaning, which cleans the coolant side better than I can by myself on the boat . It's a muriatic acid wash basically..

I had disassemble the holding tank evacuation pump plumbing to find out why it would not evacuate. Installed a new pump and cleared the anti-siphon u-tube plus other sun shiny wonderful jobs related to this joyful experience.... now works as designed.

I'll take pics of the gen set shortly.

Heated chemical bath. Usually preformed at old fashioned radiator shops.
Getting harder and harder to find older shops now days.

Note that the "Y" valves are zip-tie locked with the waste going to the holding tank and the direct overboard sea cocks are closed. [IMG]New macerator pump and two of the three new order free hoses.[IMG]

Yeah I found a local shop with a husband/wife team. "Jim" in the shop apron told me it would be ready tomorrow and shook my hand. $20 later and the next morning it was clean as a whistle. I had used Barnacle Buster on the raw water path but it was already quite clean so it did not take much time on my part. New gaskets attaching it to the tank of course.

I remember an option years ago on smaller NL light plants, cast iron, bronze or stainless dump risers.
Did you stay with cast iron or go bronze?
