Tatiana's launch is scheduled for March and she will also have a diesel-electric propulsion package. After that we might see first evidence of another bigger project. (Do not want to spread a rumor but it might be perhaps 156m and scheduled for 2016?) o_O

"Aurora" is for sell. Her asking price of 49,750,000 euros sounds pretty high though. But as we know this is often common practice for yachts being put up for sale.

There is news that "Octopus" has found the WW2 battleship "Musashi"

In March 2015, Paul G. Allen and his team of researchers located the Musashi, a WWII Japanese battleship considered one of the two largest and most technologically advanced battleships in naval history. These images of the ship are from the Octo ROV deployed from Allen's M/Y Octopus.

Lürssen is about to launch the 125m project "Tatiana" very soon, possibly tomorrow.

Yep, she looks very ready to launch... Looks quite interesting, I like what i see. I will wait for other angles before I make my verdict though.

Yeah... not sure what to think. Just looks so conservative compared to what Lurssen generally builds. I love her aft decks though... but the design generally just seems 'normal'.

My opinion is similar to yours and might change once she is completed. But when I saw first photos of her I thought instantly that she looks like a design from the 90s which was launched 20 years later. Not timeless but old fashioned (design wise) IMO.
Anyway her owners got what they want/ like and nothing else matters.

She's just another one of the very high volume designs.

Better quality photos are up now. From the aft quarter angle she looks alot like "Quattroelle" -in concept- minus the funnel/mast of course. Again... I lover the sweeping transom staircases.

Some people are just more interested in square footage than a vessel's lines.

I'm interested as to what is behind that 'grilled' shell door... midships on the bridge deck... is that for a very large tender?

Yeah I would also assume that they perhaps store SOLAS tenders there...

In other news there was a fire at the Lemwerder Lürssen shipyard ("Quantum Blue") on wednesday night. The scaffolding and film attached to it caught fire. Luckily the fire was blown out shorty afterwards by the local fire department. According to local media the incident happened on a 50m newbuild(?)...

The fire started on wednesday evening in Shed 8, where work is in progress on the kasko of a 50 meter ship (not yacht). Some plastic cover of a scaffolding was set on fire during welding or abrasive cutting. The fire was extinguished after about 20 min, nobody was harmed. Would mean, the fire happened at Luerssen Yard not at Luerssen Yachts.

Could be. She's newly on the market at about €40 million I think. She's does look better from the stern.

That would explain, why Tatiana / Golden Odysee is build as a SOLAS yacht or at least according to PYC. A replacement for the Golden Fleet.

Also try to compare the emblem of Golden Odysee with the covered emblem of Tatiana
