Received the press release about SIBELLE from Heesen today. Apparently already launched on 19/12/'14 and due for delivery end of this month. Interesting enough, the press release mentions that they currently have eleven projects under construction. I only know of of eight projects, so I think we can still expect some interesting news from Heesen this year.

Speaking of "Sibelle" she had her sundeck hardtop and mast added on recently so now she looks more completed -in appearance-.

Heesen's YN17650 project Akoya was moved out of the building hall recently. She is a member of their 50-meter series. You know... "Ice Angel", the ex. Satori etc

Maybe it's the angle of the photo but the sightlines from the pilothouse look not so fantastic.

On the heels of "Sibelle's" delivery, Heesen/Omega/Frank Laupman showcases another design seemingly based on Sibelle. This is hull YN17850 and apparently Heesen has given the chance for the public to give her a name. The winner gets to go to the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) and the yacht will be named after the chosen name from the winner up until the time she is christened.

I agree Kevin. Diverting YF traffic to FB only increases visitors to an otherwise useless business medium propagated by companies who think social media is about getting likes. Forums are the original social media and FB can't hold a candle to that content.

The original social media is paper pamphlets.
Facebook is a far better place for companies to spread their message than small web forums like this one, as Facebook has membership numbers of 1.4 billion, according to wiki.
Deleting links doesn't stop people from checking other sites. Ripping all the information from another site and posting it here will, however.

I think you're missing the point. Facebook doesn't have focused content or collective knowledge. Forums attract the kind of traffic that is beneficial to companies within a specific industry.

    "Bigger" does not equal "better".

FB's primary demographic is 25-34 year olds. How many of them are buying yachts like the forthcoming YN17850? My guess... not many.

Do you know when FB gets the highest traffic? Mid-week, between 1 and 3 pm. You know who's online wasting time surfing FB between 1 and 3 pm? Not the kind of people conducting business the likes of which makes them enough money to buy a yacht. More likely... unemployed people, students in coffee shops between classes, and stay-at-home moms playing Candy Crush or Farmville when they aren't looking for the next 50 Shades of Gray trailer.

In any case, it's all a matter of opinion. I just think that a company like a Heesen letting FB users pick a name is a little low-brow. I'd expect something like that from Monster Energy or Rockstar... not a shipyard.

I could say the same for this forum. At a guess, I'd say there are very few billionaire members here. Most would be industry professionals, ship enthusiasts, dreamers, and the like. I could be wrong, though.

    Ekiqa,

Until you've sat in the position of an admin or mod, validating the email addresses of the people that register, you're venturing guesses at something you know very little about. In a certain irony - at 8:45 this morning - one of the principles at the Kilmer Group became a member. Being from Canada, you should have some idea who that is, eh?

And this is a daily occurrence...

Heesen's latest promo video has some exciting shots of yachts underway, exteriors, and interiors.

And a video of the Project Nova tank test.

Facebook has the most sophisticated targeting system on the web. Heesen could and likely target by age demographic and also by interest. For example only promoting the post / ad to people who expressed yachting as a hobby AND have liked lurrsen, Benetti, etc.

It's a very different medium to YF. But it's ability to target very very very specific consumers is why Wall Street has set it's value where it's at.

Has anyone seen photos of Azamanta or YN17350 outside the shed? They have both been launched but I haven't seen any photos yet.
