Hmm, I better be careful now, the Duffy thread was not supposed to be this
racy and I can imagine the Moderators fingers are hovering over the Delete button..:D

Now trying to bind insurance on the Duffy: Boat US will only insure the thing for $8K even I after I showed them a February 2014 survey with boat value at $16,900 and trailer at $1,200, total $18,100 and showed receipts and expenses of upgrading and repairing totaling more than $18K including the purchase price..

Progressive is happy to insure the boat and trailer for $18,100 agreed value but at $512 per year.
Perhaps not a bad price, does anybody have experience with Progressive Boat Insurance..?

Any recommendation for small boat insurance?

Perhaps St. Paul. They're part of Travelers. We use to use them. Typically they ran around 2%. As low as 1.6% and as high as 2.5%. Haven't used them recently though. Your agent for your homeowners and car insurance might have a provider. Our last boat on the lake was insured through State Farm.

You've got her looking really nice compared to when you bought her. But you're going to really have to raise the waterline to accomodate all of those golden girls :D

    Duffy repair

Just I note for you guys and gals that have Duffy's,

There's a guy in Pompano Beach, FL that works on Duffy's and is in comunication with the factory in California. He's pretty busy, because they do both cars and boats, but he at least knows the boat. The Owner also owns an older electric Duffy himself.

Sorry guys, I just realized I forgot to post the shops name in Pompano Beach
It's Able Automotive & Marine, 103 S. Federal Hwy, just south of Atlantic Blvd. on the west side of Federal Hwy.

Might as well put a plug in for her art work:

If ya need a painting of your boat, your dog, your concubine or just a piece of fine art, contact the artist:

(If I am breaking some rule here, don't tell Carl.) :D

    Duffy electric

We have same issues as of yesterday and found this forum. Thank you for all the advice we will start trouble shooting tomorrow. The boat has stopped twice now in the last week, forward reverse won't work unless we reset as stated previously. But have had the boat for years bought it with rebuild motor and new batteries.
Going now to check it out and see if it will shift. Tomorrow the calls begin! Thanks for all the advice.

Good luck on that. Sounds like the same problem I had before the factory calibrated the controller. Of course it could also be the solenoid...

These boats need a bit more tech, like fault codes or error messages, stuff that even cheap electronics comes with.

And service providers. I wonder how many there are that people bought for small lakes or ponds, non boaters essentially, that are just sitting now because of issues. I don't know sometimes if they're helping the cause of electric of hurting it as they make one want to consider it, but the issues make one want to run far from it.

Just a really inviting boat that would tempt us and many others until these type things.
