There is a 58' Bertram Flybridge Motoryacht for sale in Daytona for $69,000! Looks like the deal of the century for any wannabe liveaboard.

(Not mine and no connection to the sale)

For me, it was the 3rd hit when I googled:

58' Bertram Flybridge Motoryacht for sale in Daytona

I won't link to it (hopefully giving the name is ok?) the listing I found was on Parker Yacht Sales' site. Says the owner is forced to sell for health reasons.

I actually saw that boat in person a month ago. I stayed at the Marina on the same pier it's on. It didn't appear to be in too bad of shape on the exterior....LOLOLOL It's at the marina just north of the Chart House.

I don't think you classic boat lovers are taking this thing seriously........
The stock market took a 7% hit so far this year and NOW, the classic boat market seems to be heading south also.:eek:As the owner of seven classic boats, 2 classic cars, and one 71 year old classic babe, I am concerned:( I think someone in the Daytona area should don a flack jacket and check this boat out as to condition and value and report back to us. I just left there last week after a 3 month tour of duty and I am not keen to return just yet:D

    Wow $69,000........

I wonder what that would fetch here in Canada where boat prices tend to be 20%+ higher than the US

    Hmmmmm.

    $69,000 x 1.20 + = $82,800 +

One issue is going to be that based on the photos it appears 2 cats live on the boat. Now I love cats but if I was selling the boat I would make sure it looked squared away in the sales photos and at least put away the animal food bowls for the pictures.

I've never understood why when some people go to sell their boat they make little or no effort to straighten it up before taking pictures and keep it that way for showings. It's one thing if the boat has on going work going on. But many times it's just messing looking for no good reason.

    Morning,
Canada pricing. Keep in mind CAD is now only $.90 US Old Phart, so add another 10%. Now we're up to $91,080. Just sayin'. I agree about the cats and the tidy up. One of my pet beefs is a fair number of boat for sale listings neglect to show any engine room pictures. The ER is usually the first place I look. Tells me a lot about how well the boat was cared for.

You are correcting the wrong member.

You need to make your point to the author of the numbers - 1000 islands. ;)

Back when I was a kid, and cars were reasonably priced I learned that washing your car before showing it was worth about $500. Any bunper sticker would cost you $50. I don't understand not prepping either. When house hunting I've been shown homes with people still laying in bed, and been on too many filthy boats with filthy bilges people were trying to sell. When something is being presented for sale I assume that THIS is the best condition it has ever been kept in and probably the best it will ever look. Sellers should keep that in mind.

During my last buying mission I drove 10 hours to see a 58 Bertram "in mint" condition and owned by the broker. Between the filth and the slapped on house paint touch-ups I was real glad that I planned a mini-vacation around the viewing so the trip wasn't a complete waste of time.

My thoughts exactly. Having no money to fix it is fine, but not removing/hiding the $rap before taking pictures is just beyond me.

I know a lot of people who make money by doing just that, buying filthy looking things (houses, cars, etc.) and making them look very presentable and desirable.

APPEARS???? The 2 different cats are in the photos! LOL..... I looked at the pictures. The boat is smoked in hence the cigarettes and ash tray inside in the pictures. But all in all the interior doesn't look to be in bad condition at all, aside from the fact it has white formica EVERYWHERE. It has an expensive Frigidaire gallery slide in stove, over the stove microwave, a newish washing machine under the old dryer, flat screen tv's.........Not one picture of the engine room which might be why it's so cheap, but they show low hours although there is a 110 hr discrepancy in the hours between port and starboard.....I saw the boat in person only because I stayed on that dock one night on the last delivery and it looks (from the exterior) like it's in pretty good shape.
