I would like to replace the carpet in the galley and salon. The current salon and galley is a binded carpet that lays over the teak and holly with a rubber backing. Any recommendations on where to purchase?
A good carpet place. You want a marine grade carpet with a rubber backing, or just a good grade of carpet with a rubber backing. Anyone that binds carpet locally can bind a piece that you cut. If your existing piece is intact, it should be easy to cut it the right size and have them bind it.
Capt J, So most carpet stores bind carpet. Was not aware of that. Is it hard to find this carpet with a rubber backing or is there something newer that is being used on the back? Skip
No, they use a local binder. But if you call them they can get it done. They also can install a nonskid rubber backing on carpet. I would talk to a good local carpet store and see what they can do.
