Hi. I have been lurking for awhile at YF and learned a lot. This is my first post so please be gentle :)

Currently I have a small boat Post 46 which I have been using quite extensively for a couple of years for fishing and cruising too. Family need dictate that I need to move to bigger cruiser type and I have came across Ferretti 731 that I quite like. Enough rooms for kids, fast, comfortable and etc.

I know it is a huge step up and I think I am ready. My question is does anyone here own 731 and can share some experience owning it. Is there any issue? The one that I am looking was launched in 2006 and have less than 800hrs on its MTU. Obviously I will be doing the survey if we decided to go ahead.

    Thanks a lot.

That's a big jump. The ease of maitance just went out the window. You may consider a manager or p/t captain to help keep her up.

    731 Ferretti

DKRM, Welcome to YF, and I think you will find out lots of info about the 731 Ferretti that your seeking.

In terms of the hours on the MTU's and the year, I'm guessing those are 12v2000's and IMO, my favorite engine package because they are fast and easy to work on. Definitely have a survey done, and I've ran a few Ferretti's, and really like how they ride. Now I haven't specifically ran a 731, but I have ran the 80 and 881RPH before and loved them. Heavy and fast, which equals high consumption rate, but it's not too bad. Also, I have a friend who was really hot on the new 96 Ferretti, and the service capabilities here in the States is impressive at best, but I'm going off what was told to me. Also, I would take a Ferretti over an Azimut any day in terms of storage, layouts, and ability to work in the engine room.
