    Well, identity theft, spam, selling your information are three reasons. One more when it comes to a resume is that if you're putting your references on then you're also exposing their phone numbers for misuse or abuse.

    Now is the level of risk high? On a site like this one, probably not. Still there are those who make careers out of stealing and misusing information. Unfortunately, it's part of the world we live in.
