Does anyone have a resource for a new starter for my 1968 427's? Or perhaps a quality re- build shop. My engine turns over but doesn't start, sounded like it got stuck after the engine ran. Now no start at all.

If your engine turns over that doesn't sound like a starter. Generally a starter will just click when bad. How are your batteries.

I'm with NYCAP123 on this one. Check your electrical system--batteries, connections, cables, solenoids etc. If, in fact, it is a bad starter, I'd send it off to be rebuilt. There are lots of shops around that claim to rebuild starters, but it's been my experience in recent years that most of them don't actually do the rebuilding. They ship them off to one of the regional specialty shops around the US (and even Mexico!) that do that sort of thing.

I had very good results from White Armature up in Wisconsin. I sent them an armature for an Ideal windlass and it came back very nice. I believe they also do complete component rebuilds.

Post your results when you get it running!
