    Captain cabin

I've got that one, yet still unclear. Shall I assume both staterooms fore and aft are for guests and only those little 2 beds in the cabins aft are for crew?

If it was my boat I would sleep in one of those little beds in the aft cabin and have my crew in the forward cabins as I don´t like to have guests onboard. But I would not have a captain, just stewardesses..:)

Yes, I know some Captains like to sleep in the Owners Cabin, but not me...

Not really, until we're home. Till then we're feeling amd listening for the odd sound, ready to pop up.

There is NO dedicated captain's cabin.

NYCAP, So true, "listening for the odd sound, ready to pop up"

it seems I wake up with almost any sound aboard but could sleep through a hurricane on land.

On many boats the captain's quarters are a definite afterthought. This is from a Traga

Some of the info above is a bit inaccurate. There is a dedicated crew cabin at the stern of the Squadron 78, but as the boat is semi custom the owner can configure this area any way he or she wants. The layout in the second post above is merely one of several standard/optional layouts.

I've owned 2 of these boats, a 2011 and now a 2013 (both called Match) and just to give you an idea of what's possible, in my current boat I have the following crew accom: a crew cabin with two single beds (in an L configuration not side by side), a conversion to one double bed, plus a removeable wooden partition that divides the cabin into two separate single-bed cabins each with its own access door. There is a small ensuite shower/WC. There is also a crew sofa on the port side that could be a single bed in an emergency. The crew area is fitted out in white or beige laminate as standard but you can have it done in walnut or oak veneer if you wish, to the the same standards as the front half of the boat. The space is very flexible and Fairline will build pretty much whatever you ask for.

Here are some pics of the crew area on my 2011 boat (now sold). My new boat is similar, except in walnut. To help you get bearings, the laundry gear is along the port side of the boat and the crew cabin on the starboard side, with the corridor from aft transom door to engine room door running along the boat's centreline. The three steep steps with white caulked teak are the steps that lead down from the transom door into the crew cabin. BTW all this crew zone has airco, Tecma WC, a kitchen/countertop, fridge and music. It's as good as it gets for crew accom in the world of 80 foot boats :)

It's nicely finished off, but it doesn't appear to have much headroom. I guess you haven't seen the crew quarters on an 80' Hatteras though.

Yup, fair comment - being a Euro boater I wasn't thinking of the Hatteras/Marlow/Outer Reef/ etc genre of boats when I made my comment above! I can imagine Hatt 80 crew space is much bigger than Sq78. I'm on the boat now and fwiw I just measured the Squadron 78 headroom to be 6 foot 2 inches through the main crew/utility space and engine room, and about 6 inches less in the sleeping cabin (ie the main walkway zone in picture with the black cushion on the bed).

Dreaman if you are at Cannes boat show this year drop by to say hello and I'll show you around my boat - it will be exhibited on Fairline's stand. Boat is called MATCH. I'm there the first day plus the Friday and the weekend, otherwise my stewardess Jenny will be on board and can show you around
