We were wondering.....while you are cruising between islands..or on the hook and members of your party are on deck while nude...can that get you in trouble with the island authorities? Not many of our yacht friends like to wear clothes while on the boat. That's how our crew rolls, we just don't want to get in any legal trouble while having fun.
Tan lines just don't work in our world.

i guess a lot will depend upon which part of the world you are in ...

in many parts of the east, you could potentially have more trouble than you can handle ... legal and otherwise ...

Most places don't care if you're naked on your boat. Since there are so many different islands and nations it's hard to say exactly without a location. But, for the most part you won't be bothered being nude on the high seas.

Agreed; so long as you are considerate of your neighbors, and the population of the host country, no problem. Enjoy.

This post is useless with out pictures!
We had an incident this past winter where we had a bunch of 9 year old girls heading to shore, when they passed a cruiser taking their afternoon shower! This caused quite a bit of giggling and comments from the kids, I thought it was funny, but the parents not so much.

I think if you use common sense on this one you should be fine. Depending on where your at, like mentioned before will determine a lot of things, but I agree with you, I don't like tan lines either, and I'm currently landlocked as well, hoping to find the next Captain gig sooner than later!

I take it you man the helm in the nude? If so, watch out when you spin that wheel!:D

Nice, good advice.....but on a more specific local.....Bahamas, BVI, Virgin Islands...even if you are on the hook just off shore....they can't "ban Nudity?" Can they? We are huge fans of the back deck out door shower, keeps the grey water levels low and is really convenient. We could post pictures, but we would be banned for life....

Don't think you need to worry about an attack by ultra-conservatives there. If there's a local prohibition I'd expect it would involve someone coming by the boat to ask you to cover up. Cops don't generally like to bust people for just being nude (especially if they look good).:D

Don't complain when the clear waters become cloudy.

There's a reason for a grey water tank.

Might as well spare the black tanks, too.

Any pre-wagers on floaters or sinkers, when swimming?

Ive never manned the helm nude, but have done my fair share of watersports and snorkeling. When it comes time to operating the tenders and Yacht, I keep it professional, but actually passed a guy on a Cigarette this past weekend in the Great Lakes that was totally naked with his wife / gf totally naked as well.

YEAH BUT, on a busy weekend. The boats I always see getting pulled over by marine patrol for a "safety inspection", are always the boats with the beautiful women on them. They never seem to pull over the boats with a bunch of dirty old men on them. And a boat full of naked senior citizens would probably send the marine patrol scurrying in the opposite direction.....LOLOLOL.....

I will never forget the sight of coming down the ICW in the carolina's and passing a 35' Sailboat with 2 really fat senior citizen men naked on the bow, I just about lost my lunch.
