499 GT yachts For some time now, I ask myself how come, that displacement yachts build in the Med with nearly 500 GT and (for example) RINA classed, often seem to be bigger and have more volume, than northern European build and MCA / GL classed yachts with 500 GT. Northern European builder told me, they reach the 500 GT limit normally at LOAs of about 44 to 45 meters (144 to 147 ft). Yards in Med regulary build 499,99 GT displacement yachts with 47 even 49 meters LOA (154 to 160 ft). Does RINA have a different measurement or is MCA / GL only much harder to their clients? Maybe I am just stupid and do not understand (the system). And do not tell me, Italian yards build sleeker yachts, than the guys in the north.
Perhaps northern boats have thicker skin. Perhaps northern yards colder (shrink - think third leg) than Italian yards.
Superyacht builder ISA Yachts in Italy has appointed Hein Velema as Head of Sales and Marketing. As part of a strategy to strengthen the position of the yard and its brand, ISA approached Velema because of his experience built up in the super yacht industry. “This is the type of challenge that I simply cannot resist,” says Velema. “The chance to ensure that a first-class company receives the recognition it deserves.”

Okto is for sale asking €69 million. Seems quite expensive given its pedigree. Interior shots at the link. http://fraseryachts.com/Sale/sale_gallery.aspx?YachtID=Y2854_MC_MC

It appears as there has been some rebranding and even disassociation of the EXTRA line from ISA Yachts. ISA Yachts was pushing this new line which started with the debut of the EXTRA 76 at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2018 but now especially since its acquisition by Palumbo Superyachts, the EXTRA line has been made into an independent brand of its own. We believe the yachts are still being built at ISA's facilities. The EXTRA line of yachts run from the 76 up to the 130 ALLOY speaking of which the that (flagship) is expected to launch very soon. www.extrayachts.com
