What is everyone's take on Chapman School Of Seamanship and would you hire someone with that endorsement over someone without? Just looking to broaden the job horizon, and maybe then off to Piney Point MD for Merchant Marine Credential! Thoughts!

I would think Chapman's is somewhat of a plus because it shows that someone's (dedicated) willing to pay for the schooling and take the time to go to the class. Instead of looking for a job that pays well for 6 months so that they can go backpacking in Costa Rica for a year. A friend of mine did the school in the early 80's, and had good things to say but I have no familiarity with them now. I think that learning the basics that they teach is a good thing.
