43 ft Egg Harbor aft cabin ..Help

    Here's a question for you guys. Does any one have any info on a 1990's 43 ft aft tri cabin Egg? I have been looking at Carver 4207's and 440's but I came across this 1990 aft tri cabin Egg Harbor boat and it caught my eye. Problem is, I've been trying to research the boat but I cant find any info on it at all. Its like Egg Harbor never even built a 1990's 43ft aft. I really don't want to buy a boat that there were only a handfull ever made.

    I have only ever seen 1 in person and only a few online for sale ever, didn't look too close to even notice that they may have been the same boat or not.

    Nice layout but definitely only a handful ever made. Looking at Soldboats.com there have only been 2 different 43' aft cabin eggs ever sold since 1998.

    If true, contact a surveyor and see what it does for his eyes.

    Just curious, is the boat's name: Dream Catcher?

    P.S.- Perhaps the company's history (1990 - 1992) is the reason for low volume production, during this time frame.

    One sold in Baltimore 6 years ago or so called Over Easy. 3208 Cats, may be the same boat. Built on the S/F hull like the old Viking 44's

    One sold in France last year. Doesn't seem much wrong with them at all, just a niche market.

    If you are talking about Dream Catcher, it is in my marina. I can't tell you anything about the reason for low production but I can say that the boat is immaculate from the outside. I have never been inside but it also looks that way from the pics. I'm a little surprised at the engine room pics as the owner seems to be very picky with upkeep. The CATS sound good and the boat has a very distinctive sound of its own. From what I have seen, the owner mostly just goes out to a local hang out and drops the hook. We are in brackish water. Wish I could give you more info, it has been for sale for awhile.

    I would take the Egg Harbor over the same vintage Carver anyday.

    Thanks for the feed back guys. The boat is the Dream Catcher and it was the Over Easy at one time. I'm making a trip to look at a couple Carvers in the area and happened to stumble across the pictures of the Egg. I own a Carver now and really like the boat. I've never had any issues with the carver and was really leaning towards another. I like the way Carver lays out the interiors of their boat and make such great use of space. Any more info you guys can give me on the Egg would be great. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but Carver will always have a place in my heart.

    Im not 100% sure, so someone check me on this....


    I think the Egg 43 Aft Cabin is the same boat as the Pace 43 Aft Cabin.

    It is my understanding that at some point Egg, Pace, and Pacemeker were made from the same molds. And several of the models are almost identical except for the name badges.

    RE Egg vs Carver: my choice would be the Egg especially in that vintage of the OP. However, I will agree that Carvers have come a long way.....

    I thought Pace was a rouge copy. Was shut down because of legal issues including Flagrant copies and false name/brand recognition.

    As far as I can tell She seems to be built on the 1990 42' convertible hull. I'm just not sure why they call her a 43'. It looks to me like the same interior and the back deck glassed over and turned into an aft cabin. Does anyone know the true loa of a 42' from tip of pulpit to back of swim platform? The part that I don't understand is the 42 says its a 15' beam but the 43' says its 14'5'". But the 43' Aft claims to be a 15.

    I think these were built on a 43' convertible hull, the 15' specs may just be incorrect info from the broker.

    If you're looking at these I'd also take a look at 44 Vikings and the 12 Meter Trojan Motoryacht. Very similar layouts with proven hulls and a great following.
