The search form showed me nothing about "Larisa". So here is the official press release and a picture from the press package: Larisa joins the global Feadship fleet Feadship has launched the 57.60-metre custom motoryacht Larisa. Built for an experienced owner looking to upgrade to the world's leading superyacht brand, her interior comes from the boards of Bannenberg & Rowell Design. Larisa features a contemporary classic exterior profile, with a wide range of modern features. The strong curvaceous signature lines of the design are supported by a straight knuckle that runs all the way round the yacht from the bow to the stern. Other noteworthy features include the grey functional design element on the sun deck, and the liberal deployment of stainless steel railings. The latter come into their own on the forward part of the yacht in particular, descending into the top plate in a way that echoes the classic Feadships of old. The interior also succeeds in setting new standards while leveraging on the experiences of the past. Bannenberg & Rowell embarked on a three-year design voyage that took in influences from Greece, Italy, the Riviera and the Byzantine Empire, and then seamlessly blended them all within Larisa’s interior. As always, the interior layout is purely customised to the way the owner’s enjoy their time onboard. For example, there is a fabulous circular dining area on the bridge deck aft. Round doors to the aft deck slide all the way open, giving guests the choice to enjoy al fresco dining. The use of glass in the side of the stairways to port and starboard adds to the very open feel, which is further accentuated by the exceptionally low bulwarks. Another of the highlights on Larisa is a first for Feadship. The inboard balcony in the owners’ lounge on the main deck is easily accessible without the assistance of crew via pushbutton controlled doors. At the launch ceremony, Feadship director Henk de Vries praised the excellent cooperation with the owner's team, Bannenberg & Rowell Design and the captain. “The designers did an incredible job in creating detail and intricacy, creating an interesting and detailed interior." He also explained that the contract for Larisa had been the first new order signed after the beginning of the financial crisis. “A Feadship is not just a luxury product - it also has to add up financially. The smart and efficient negotiating skills of Will Christie at Y.CO played an important role in bringing this project to fruition at a crucial time for the industry.” Larisa's captain James Verity told the watching crowds that the entire project had been great fun. “It has long been an ambition of mine to be involved with a build at Feadship. Over the past three years I have seen that the real Feadship magic occurs on the shop floor – the quality of workmanship, the attention to detail and the pride that goes into the work here is unmatched, and this is why Feadship is at the very top of modern yacht building today.” Before cracking open the champagne, the owner also spoke a few words. “It's now some 400 years since Peter the Great came from Russia to the Netherlands to learn yacht building and we have been trying to perfect the art ever since. But we still can't beat Feadship, which is why I had my boat built here. As someone who has been involved in engineering various construction projects, I understand how difficult it is to create something as magnificent as Larisa on time and within budget. Everyone at Feadship has done a fantastic job.” Technical specifications Builder: Feadship Type: Twin screw motoryacht, steel hull and aluminium superstructure Length overall: 57.60m 189’ Beam overall: 10.55m 34’4” Draft (loaded): 3.25m 10’8” Fuel capacity: 100,000 l 26,417 US Gallons Fresh water capacity: 25,000 l 6,604 US Gallons Design: Naval Architect: Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects Exterior styling: Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects Interior design: Bannenberg & Rowell Design Propulsion Main engines: 2x MTU 12V4000M53R – 1140 kW / 1529 bhp Generators: 2x Caterpillar C9 – 200kW / 1500 rpm Stabilizers: Quantum zero-speed stabilizers Max. speed: 15.5 knots Range: Transatlantic Accommodation Owner: Owners’ stateroom with separate bathroom and dressing room Guests: Four guests in two guest staterooms; and two guests in one VIP stateroom Crew: Twelve crew in six cabins, captain’s cabin, laundry and storage rooms on lower deck Water sports: 2 x 7m tenders; scuba gear About Feadship: Based in the Netherlands and with roots dating back to 1849, Feadship is recognised as the world leader in the field of custom superyachts. I like her for sure! She has alot of design elements that are desirable and although she carries a distinct overall Feadship look, she still looks refreshing. She reminds me a bit of one or two Amels yachts as well.
Ditto on that! Feadship seems recently very busy with all these launches! I think she does not really appear like a 57m yacht though she resembles their SL39 line IMO. Ron, you pretty much nailed it... she is probably the succesor to the Amels 49,30m "Larissa" built in 2004 and currently for sale!! Therefore the similarities.
Well when I heard the name I thought the Amels "Larissa" but that is two 'ss' and the Feadship has one but because the Amels is for sale and she looks something like her especially around the bridge area. It may not be that shocking. The trapezoidal shape to themaster windows is what probably reminds you themost of the SL39 line in particular "GO" and "Ocean Mercury". Remember "Kathleen Anne" doesn't have that shape window.
Close up look at the new "Larisa" being towed...very nice looking yacht. Larisa door Alphen aan den Rijn - YouTube

Very impressive yacht to see close by: clean fresh modern lines but with classical proportions. Not the biggest boat around but with nearly 58 meters (189 ft) she has enough volume and size to impress. Something I miss in most 45 meter ships. Very embarrassing: standing next to Larisa I couldn't remember who did the design, had to look it up In house job by De Voogt: they really excelled in this project. Surpassed my expectations, and compared to some other yachts in this size category that I've seen recently, Larisa really stands out imo. It's more expensive to order a fully custom yacht, but if done properly, you can see the difference.
I wonder if those upright supports that 'hold' up the aft deck overhangs of the main and upper decks, if they light up. Okay think I found my answer, they were wrapped in protective covering, and from far they looked like if it was a glass or plastic covering that might have had lights underneath like say, "Nirvana". This pic by David from his website shows it...
"Larisa's" 50m Amels predeccessor was apparently renamed "Volpini".. I remember seeing her on the market so a sale is logical?
Well she was sold in June and we previously thought her name was "COMO" but it is indeed "W". Since then she is back at Feadship for some refit work that will see a number of changes made. The most notable change on the exterior will be that of the hull colour. She will shed her white hull and pick up a metallic Silver finish. The sundeck will receive a large jacuzzi and there will be changes to the accommodation for guests. For example, The VIP on the lower deck will be turned into two suites while a convertible cabin will be made on the bridge deck. The day head up there will be turned into a full bathroom. A La Mer Inc will be onboard to make some changes to the interior decor but nothing over the top, the Bannenberg and Rowell design will still shine through. Expect to see "W" reemerge in March 2020.
