I'm willing to speculate she is headed towards the SFO bay area.
We should know in the next few days but I am really hoping someone will get some good pics while she's passing under the Golden Gate Bridge !;)

Very nice to see! Pity their cams were installed in say 1996...
Or were they up to date prior to the lighting strikes?

    Wow!

    She's through the Creek already?

    It usually takes 8 - 10 hours. :D

    Hi,

According to the time stamp on my version of YF the post saying they were approaching Gatun Locks and yours the difference is 8 hrs 1 minute

Could it be that with a few more $$ one could buy a "slot" and get ahead of the pack?
Never been through the Canal, just wondering.
A this time she's heading to 133° at 14.6 knots.
    Yep, she's moving all right!

    Hi,

Last time I was through there shallow draft vessels could take a shortcut through the Gatun Lake thereby shaving time off the transit.

    Banana channel

we used to take the banana channel in Gatun lake, stop and swim for a couple hours. The boat was still assignd a slot, but there was time before the ship you shared the lock with caught up. This was a 155' with 11' draft.

    True.

    Very true.

Also very true is the time stamp difference between post numbers 227 and 229 - 57 minutes. :D

Jack's post # 229 could easily be inferred to mean Venus had navigated the Creek and was headed North to La Paz.

I was merely relaying the info contained in the tag for the vessel, which indicated a destination of "La Paz", not implying she was *there* already!

At this point she's doing about 17 knots, practically due West and will soon pass south of Golfito, Costra Rica.

Hopefully we will have someone able to catch her in a couiple of good pictures when she gets to SFO...
    ;)

After spending the last 2 months around La Paz, she's back at the Pacific anchorage in Panama.
Looks like she could be heading to the Caribbeans?

    Not really.

Passing the keys, she did a turn and burn (25 knots +/-).
