I'm a big fan! It is somewhat surprising to hear that a yacht of this size is going to be under 3000gt and with five staterooms. Seems like the owners wanted a traditional 85m class yacht and then decided they wanted to add a helicopter hanger. looking at the photos, it appears that there is another spot for tenders or SOLAS life boats. Can anyone confirm this?

Also, I read somewhere else that she will have a 16.6m beam, not 13.6 like indicated in the YF press release.

Well I took the information from the Feadship Press Release that they sent to us and it states 13.60-meters Beam overall so which you want to believe? The builders or something you read elsewhere?

As it relates to SOLAS tenders. Around the 'gold' grill area there seems to be a hatch there than can open midships or so. So who knows?

Hopefully you can get a better idea of the hull color in this video made in bright sunlight. In the other video the yacht was located in the shadow of the shed:

Yes, a much better idea, thank you. Reminds me of Sunrays. The yacht is beautiful.

It might very well be because it would be pretty useless to have a pit right there on on the very end of the bow and how the railings sweep down...

It's a very sleek design, the owner clearly prefers aesthetics over maximum volume.

I was as surprised as you about her beam:

    99 x 13.6 meters

    vs for example

    85.5 x 14.2 meters for Y708

I don´t think its a bubble bath, looks more like the stairs connecting that deck with the service deck below.

On this photo you can see (partly) behind the gold colored "camouflage" or rails. Apparently life rafts and perhaps life boats as well.

The red color on the railings is protective stuff, underneath is stainless steel visible if you look carefully:

Ya know what really amazes me; They build a super beauty like this, paint her, then splash her.
Look at that water line. Da Boot is perfect.

How can you calculate and set a water line on a NEW build like that.

    Hi,

By knowing how much the vessel will displace when finished and in operational trim.

Most of the premier builders get it right or very close to right first time, so they should after so much practice

    Hi,

Weight control is a very important part of the construction process.

It can easily influence the use of marble and stone.

When building vessels like this a lot of homework will have been done before steel cutting commences.

On a new design Tank testing will have been conducted to give a good idea of how it will perform at various loading and sea conditions. Stabiliser, Power and propellor tests are also conducted during a full set of trials.

Some renderings/sketch/drawing combo by Andrew Winch...shows project 'Dream's' helipad on that long bow, also showing that it can slide off to the sides over the bow. Does this suggest that a garage is below for the helicopter?
