Looking for someone that might be interested in restoring this beautiful Egg Harbor to keep as there own or sell, a 1969 43' Sport Fish with 671N Detroits by J&T that sank during Hurricane Sandy. It is still on the bottom and I am holding off raising her untill all the ducks are in a row to raise and save the Detroits. They are fine until they hit the air, erosion will not start until that moment. If ther is anyone interested I will put up $5,000 towards raising her, Flushing the Detroits and putting her on a transport to dilliver, Donate and sign over the registration. Then the restoration can begin. Its a terific sport Fish boat, Highly regarded in its time and still is for its fish capabilities as well as its cruising and the economy and longevity of the bullitt proof Detroits, also amung the most well regarded marine engines of all time. I will donate this beautifull 43' Egg to that someone, and I will donate $5000 to the salvage opperation which I have already put together a opperational team to do the salvage but feel free do bring your own if so. Please contact me ASAP, send me a PM and I will give my contact info. I need this to happen as quik as possible. Thanks, Gary Boat is still in the slip, at the Midget Squadron Yacht Club, Brooklyn NY, in the Peardegat Basin I have tried to attach Pictures but its not working, so contact me and Ill sen pic's and maybe someone can help load them to the post. link to pictures on photobucket http://s1175.beta.photobucket.com/us.../Three Bells

Thanks, I really meant no disrespect, I also can see humor at times but when looking at my home underwater like this, after saving forever for this specific boat, well it hurts, no doubt. I have preached all my life on the betterness of wood boats, now I wonder if I am a Hypocrit because I do not want to ever go through this again! And Im thinking "TRADER" !!! Im going fiberglass,, WTF !! I really dont know, Im flipping through emotions rite and left, and I am in Pain, this is not what I imagined in all my life. Sorry Guys, Im sounding off and should shut my face rite now !! g night
I feel really sorry and i applaud yr efforts to save a classic woodie but I can't help thinking that you re kidding yourself thinking the engines, or anything else, are salvageable after a month underwater Unfirtunately the restoration costs will be at least twice the boat value.
Tnx Pascal, I have an interested party that wants to restore for there own use, he has the equipment and the deisel machanics to do the job, Im hoping they come through. I met with them last night. Ive had some interested parties all the same, basicly wanting this particular boat type Egg Harbor so, there are still lovers of this old woodie. Nice avatar, what boat is that?
After putting her on Craigs list and eBay advertising for free to anyone who can raise her they can have her, I received allot of responses, and one fellow from the south has committed do the job but has been holding off for better weather. Until then it still sits on the bottom where erosion is limited with no oxygen. I know there is natural O2 in water but at a miniscule amount. It does make for a more difficult raising as the wood will be soaked and more likely to fall apart, but still doable with care. I would rather she go away asap so in that regard she is still available to the anyone else who wants her and can come sooner. I will through some funds Ive raised into the pot to help make it happen
I know there are allot of doubters here but I have done allot of research and in reality, The 671's are bullet proof, very easy to work on and with minimal erosion can be made whole again . Ive know of cases where after 4 months they've been saved before with a few flushes and oil changes and they start rite up. It may be the Detroit simple but its been done many many times. As to the wood aspect, Its wood, its in salt water, a preservative. Dried out, she is fixable and Ive seen many a boat restored after sinking. If I had the funds, It would be done already or close to.
I know, I wish I had had the money and better resources. It kills me to go there ans see it. I actually go around and come in from the other direction so I dont have to. Really, I just want it gone so I can put something else there. I received enough funds to replace, but not enough to remove and replace. But I definitely thank you for your concerns and thoughts. Its nice to know there are people who care
Garrbo, I clicked on the link to see the photos of your boat again and it looks like she got raised? Tell me there is bright future ahead for that beautiful boat. Bill
