    Hi there!

It looks like my last posting was deleted. Why that?

There's a rumour that 'Project Topaz' will be out for a 2-day sea trial, starting tomorrow afternoon. So look out for the elegant lady this weekend.

    Cheers,

    Kraut

    Good News!
Looking forward to see new photos of her, especially aerials.

BTW, I'm trying to guess her name, hidden under canvas cover.
The first letter looks to me as "Z".
My ultimate variant of her name - "ZEPHYR".
Any other thoughts on this riddle?
Earlier I guessed by the same approach the name of Katara but failed.
Maybe this time will be more lucky?:)

I was just going to say the same thing! Many tried to guess the final name of Project Crystal and failed misserably lol. We should just wait until it is revealed or we see something on AIS.

    Well, something about the name.

As since yersterday her name can be read by everyone, I am not revealing anything, when I tell you that the name of Project Topaz is going to be Topaz. It's rare, that the projects name is going to remain the name of the ship - but that's the way it is.

Topaz left Bremen at 6pm yesterday and her return is expected today in the evening.

    Yes, Kraut, you are right!

With great surprise I found the confirmation on Claus Schaefe photo.
It's really the rarest event when project name coinside with the name of Yacht. I remember only one such case - "777" Yacht.

I must admit that failed again with my guess.:(

With great surprise I read here, that nobody seemed to know about her name.
All off Topaz' rescue boats and dinghies etc were wearing the same lettering for many weeks and everybody could have seen them for many weeks on the pier - you only had to visit Lürssen by water side. So there was not really a secret about that.

    Hi,

Not everyone involved in this and other projects needs to announce all details to the world.

You would be surprised as to who else works with you and contributes a bit from time to time.

Concerning the name there was no need to have any detailed knowledge.
Any interested person was able to recognize the dinghies chrome letters (name and home port) for many months, if he only had sailed the Weser river. On the other hand the name of a ship is not really that interesting. I was only wondering why nobody had posted the name yet, because it was not a secret at all.

It is perhaps not interesting for you but obviously for the owners as they tried to keep it under wraps.
Kraut, it is nice to see how proud you are to be a part of Lurssen and create all these great vessels... but please think of the owner's privacy and interests. Lürssen is not groundless famed for their high discretion and I think you should respect that because that is one of the reasons why Lürssen is so succesfull and is able to give you a job. It is fine when you can tell us a bit about these yachts but please nothing that is too much related to the client or is against confidental agreements, thanks.

As I live in Germany, the only thing I feel proud of is that I have a job at all. I don't care whether this job is at Lada or at Lürssen. I would always try to give my best.

Maybe my English isn't too good, but I feel misunderstood. Of course I do respect my employers policy. Concerning the yachts name I only wanted to point out me being surprised at the fact, that nobody knew the name. Each sunny day a lot of interested people pass the vessel by boat. They are taking pictures and making videos and a lot of attention is paid to the ships covered name. But all these people obviously got sidetracked by the size of the ship, as they did not pay any attention to the extra boats, the inflatables or the reycue boats on board. They were next to Topaz most of the time and their names weren't covered. So I m not betraying anybody nor am I running a risk. I am just telling, that all hobby and professional photographers maybe were blinded by something else.

    Peace?

I think if you worked at the other company you would not find it as exciting as working where you do.

You have no worries there, It seems pretty good to me

Has Topaz been delivered to her owner? According to MT she carries the Cayman Islands flag.

No, she was not delivered and she does not carry the Cayman Islands flag.
Yesterday it was still the German flag and the one of Lürssen shipyard.

For me the more interesting is not the flag hoisted on Topaz but the
Tandem: Propulsion - Drivers System of the ship.
As to Propulsion Gears it's more or less clear - 10 MTU Diesel-Generators.
But as to Drivers - all in vague:confused:
I assume not traditional props but more revolutional 2 Azipod Drivers System.
Any other thoughts on the Subject?

"Topaz" seems to be delivered now. She is flying her registry flag and currently underway to Falmouth, England. The yacht looks pretty good completed. The soft blue lighting is slowly growing on me. Hope it can change to white, I believe so though that would be logical.

Topaz was handed out to the owner last Friday noon.
The ship finally left Bremen yesterday at 7:45 pm. There are rumours that she will be in Barcelona and Monaco within the next days/weeks.

Where she is going after England is speculation for now. We will just wait and see.

The exterior lightings can be changed in almost any colour. One-colour completely or gaudy, Las Vegas style. All variatons look pretty good.
