Yea I was surprised as well.
You can recognize that Lürssen publishes much more photos since they have a new website Ice, Octopus, Pacific and Pelorus are a few for example.
They made with these photos and infos about the yard a step towards the publicity - unusual for Lürssen.

Regarding the 'stolen' plans in 2006, they guy had to pay 1500 euros if I remember correct.

Possibly the owner of "Phoenix2" wanted privacy after all the publicity. I'm not saying that is the reason but it could be relevant.

It is interesting and surprising the posting of the images of "Octopus's" interior. Either the owner had a change of heart or might be signs that she may be going on sale. Sometimes that happens and I think there are a few examples of yachts out there with interiors that were previously with held and because they wanted to finally charter or sell the yacht they made images available. Benetti's "Sunday" and Baglietto's "Vicky" come to mind.

It is the same images Lürssen have been using in the Octopus pamphlet/brochure for quite a while. I'm surprised, given that it is one of the more popular big yachts, a copy never found its way onto the internet before now.

...and on Andrew Winch's website it seems as if the interior shots have been taken down there as well.

And Phoenix2's website. I wish I saved all the photos but the brochure PDF will have to do. Regarding Octopus, I have seen most of those images in the new PDF Lurssen distributes but some are new.

With Lady Kathryn V are currently 3 yachts at Lürssen Aumund.
It appears that owners spent their money more on refits than newbuilds in these days... (not only Lürssen yacht owners)

"Polar Star's" interior looks pretty nice now. I think I remember her having a cottage type interior when she was "Northern Star".

Would anyone that had it be willing to share the Phoenix 2 PDF brochure? I've been a little handy and created a pdf of the layout from the current webpage.

Ohhhh, she is just gorgeous! look at the sunshades! those are nice, sensible arrangement of them. The terrace on the sea, gotta love that! Lots of larger yachts have them these days but it just looks special on "ACE".

I am speechless - she is soo beautiful and you are right these sunshades look awesome!! You can not see it in the video though but I tell you the gym with the fold down platform has the best looking interior on bord and stunning features!
She looked already in Rendsburg great but now she is incredible.

Also interesting to note the huge stairs on her stern platform... I have never seen it elsewhere. I think it is no understatement when I say "I LOVE ACE!":)

I saw the stairs but I think many other big yachts have those kind of stair integrated into their stern platforms so she isn't an exclusive with it and even...new designs are being built with them.

Really good looking yacht. I hope that we will see interior shots one day.
  18. Maybe more Yachts in Hamburg area

Lürssen übernimmt Hamburger Norderwerft - Sietas-Gruppe wird zerschlagen - Radio Bremen

    Commentary:

Lürßen would like to be more competitive in Hamburg market. The Proposal to buy B+V did not worked well, even when they participate there together, doing marine ships. Now They bought 1/3 of Sietas Yard. The interesting part here, is that installations like 3 Docks of about 164m long are to help in building Mega-Yachts. So Sietas Yard is located in front of me, then I can see the movement of Yachts there, if contracts come to here.

Translation from Google: (Revision by me)

Sietas group is broken in three

Lürssen took hamburger Norderwerft (This Yard is located behind B+V near Landungsbrücke)
The Bremer Lürssen Group acquires specialist repairs Norderwerft in Hamburg. This is part of the insolvent Sietas group. The Norderwerft has nearly 100 employees. About 40 of them, Lürssen expects to employ further. The Sietas group had filed bankruptcy in November 2011.

Germany's oldest shipyard is to be dismantled. The three individual plants of the Hamburg Sietas Group will be acquired by investors from the shipbuilding industry. The individual rates for the three companies were higher in total than the total supply a declaration, liquidators Berthold Brinkmann reported on Thursday in Hamburg. "The trustee must always choose the highest price," he added.

    Germany's oldest shipyard
The Sietas shipyard should go to the Dutch Veka group. Two bidders were still in a neck-and-neck race for the new fields Machine Factory (NMF) with 134 employees. Whoever receives the final award should be decided in the next four weeks. The insolvency proceedings on the Sietas shipyard was the beginning of February opened in 2012. Of the 400 jobs at least 300 can be mantained.

Acquisition has several advantages for Bremen

Since long Lürssen Group showed interest at the Hamburg harbor. Last year, the attempt failed, to take over the shipyard Blohm + Voss. But with the Norderwerft, Lürssen will now get the expected access - for contracts to be awarded in the Hamburg harbor regularly. The Lürssen Norderwerft opened so an additional market. It brings the shipyard with three docks. One of them is 164 meters long. There can be accommodated at Lürssen need a mega-yacht. Thus, if the capacities are exhausted in the other of the group's shipyards, they can continue to resort to Hamburg.
