If anyone in Southern Ca. is interested in seeing a Baglietto 16M Ischia close up we will be defending our 2008 First Place Trophy this weekend at the Classic Boat, Yacht & Car Festival in Long Beach, CA August 1st 10am - 4pm This is a great event held in Downtown Shoreline Village in the Rainbow Harbor in front the Yardhouse Restaurant. All the boats are open for tours. A great weekend event for classic yacht lovers.
Here are a few shots of Barry Goldwater in Avalon Harbor, Catalina Island ca in 1964. Look what is side tied to his yacht. A Baglietto Ischia that looks to be brand new.
Here is a picture of my Baglietto as we are about to pillage Catalina Island at the annual Buccaneer Days at Two Harbors.
Here are a few shots of Cantieri Baglietto loading in their boats for the Italian International Boat Show back in the day.
Dear all, I know that boat! It was moored close to mine (a Baglietto Minorca) for a while in Genoa Port. I know the previous owner. I know that it has been perfectly resored now and is in NW USA. I would like to get in touch with the actual owner. I will post soon some picture of my Minorca (1964). As I am sure you know Minorca is just a little smaller (20m) than Maiorca.
Vintage Baglietto Photos & Advertizing Here you can find some original advertising and photos regarding our loved Baglietto SHipyard.
As you can see my last photo is the same as the one presented by Murph. The first was shoot during set up, mine at the exibition time. It has been one of the first edition of Genoa International Boat exhibition. At that time (1963 or 64) it was one of the first editions. Here you can find also an old advertizing about Baglietto and another historical italian brand for marine engines (and cars...) : Isotta Fraschini. By chance my actual boat (a Baglietto Minorca - PHILAE III) was re-equipped with two Isotta Fraschini 800CV in 82.
Baglietto Minorca PHILAEIII If you are intereseted to have a look to my restored BAGLIETTO MINORCA you can find some photos on my site: http://www.philaeiii.com/
Baglietto Ischia 16m Glad to see your 16m beauty; missed out on one up here in Canada in 09'. She was originally owned by owner of the LA Rams or LA ?, I had been told. Had been in Seattle for some time, then came up to B.C. The vessel in question needed some work and was for sale at that time; does anyone have any further info on her? Hull #, etc. "I am actively looking for a 16m Ischia now; could be redone or needing redoing; saw a few advertised in the Italy, any suggestions?"
Baglietto model 19M - 1972 Good evening everyone, Today, looking at an old yachting magazine I foun this notice about a Baglietto Yacht built in 1972 for an American Client. Dimensions were 18.60 x 4,80 mt.engines 2 x 645 HP Mercedes 87 Ea Her name is referred as "Seasniper" She's surely a custom built: the hull is similar to M series boats but the superstructure looks like the previuos Minorca e Maiorca models. Does anybody have some notice on her?
Baglietto bliss Ciao, This may in fact be the vessel I saw up in Richmond, B.C., Canada in 09'; will try and locate the ad (with photo's) for you and send if I still have them.
Thank You so much! For all those interested in old Baglietto Yachts I suggest this site: Varagine.it Archivio Storico Fotografico sulla Città di Varazze (Varagine is the old name of Varazze, homeland of Cantieri Baglietto). From the homepage on the right scroll down and select "Imbarcazioni" here there are some (very) old Baglietto Boats. then select "Industrie e Stabilimenti" on the line below, select "Cantieri Navali" and then "Cantieri Baglietto" There are dozens of old photos! Regards.
The boat you're searching for was for sale in Seattle, USA a few years back and last I heard it was up in Canada now. Here are some photos from when it was for sale. It's name at that time was Sea Angel and they listed it as a 1964 model.
What a beauty! Yesterday we watched Columbo and I noticed the yacht used in that particular episode. I googled it and this thread came up. I see someone else on this thread also recognized the Baglietto in that episode. I actually remember this thread from a while back and it's because of this that I thought the yacht on Columbo looked vaguely familiar. Stunning yacht Murph! She is the epitome of what a Yacht should look like. I can imagine sitting on the deck with a Scotch and some Stan Getz playing in the background.
