    Thanks for the post.

It looks like the sunken Ady Gil (Ex. Earth Race), with the exception of having more glass upfront I guess. Hope she get a better and longer life.

    Cheers,

    Alfred

    42 meters for 15 mils, hey the "$1m/1m" guys?:p
But seriously, if you look closely, this design, while supposedly very efficient, leaves amazingly small usable space. 2 decks and a pilothouse, with lower deck being housed in very narrow middle body, and both decks not nearly the length of full hull as you usually see - more like half of it. Even if the main deck is notably wider then comparable length monohull, it would be struggling to compensate. Plus assorted mooring pains due to width.
And I dread to imagine the "50m remote control from Iphone" scenario...

The builder, McConaghy Yachts is suppose to join YF this month, but they are a little busy with the launch. Here's a special feature I wrote on Adastra last year...

Thanks MaxPower for posting the article, the pictures are stunning and clearly show the props on the pontoons which I have been curious about.

I wonder how the yacht will be steared, from a rudder on the hull, or by changing the speed of the props on the pontoons, or a combination of both?

It will be interesting to see how she handles all the debris shown in the pictures.

Price per meter / cubic foot isn't the issue.
    Bragging rights are.

yeah ... i was wondering the same thing ...

IMHO, differential prop speeds will not be enough to turn sharply at speed ...

Anything recent on "Adastra"? Not hearing or seeing much about her.
