Sea Bowld Is My Lottery Dream Come True

If I had 600M of lottery money burning holes in my pocket I would not be able to wait 2 years to built my yacht, I would have to pick from existing stock and get on the high seas. Even with 600M I would not want a yacht longer than 200' or with a draft of more than 9' otherwise I feel like I would miss seeing too many of the world's out of the way and hard to reach places. I would be very satisfied with enough to aquire my dream yacht Sea Bowld

and have enough left over to pay for sexy crew, provisions, the diesel to cruise around the world a couple of times at 26 knots, and all the liposuction I will need from having to eat 3 square gourmet meals a day!!

That to me would be a dream come true!

    600 million yacht

If I won the $600 million lottery I would have Royal Huisman build the largest single handed capable sailing yacht able to sail in Antarctica. I really love Athena, but don't want a crew. I love the Spirit of Tradition, now named Kamaxitha, and would like something along those lines. I prefer classic over modern.

In my case, I think $100M is close to the minimum required - my rule of thumb would be an income producing capital account of three times the yacht's initial build cost (aren't dreams fun ;) )

    I'd buy a nice-looking 2004 Powerplay 33' Center Console w/Twin 2005 Mercury 250 EFI's that I saw advertised somewhere...

    I'd buy a Laser and a J/24 or maybe a J/29.

I'd charter a variety of boats to get my fix of cruising.

I'd be happy with that. I'd outfit it with a huge armament of .50 calibers and whatever else I could, Hire a full crew of ex-navy seals, and go to Somalia and play pirate hunter!

I'd buy something that fits in the bathtub, then buy a place with a really big bathtub.

The largest motoryacht I'd contemplate would be in the 65'-85' range. Something that would have relatively low operating cost and be able to get in and out of just about anywhere.

I would probably get something like a Palm Beach 65 since I would be moving back to SoCal. It's small enough so I could go cruising around the Channel Islands with little or no crew but big enough to be comfortable. The boat is drop-dead gorgeous IMHO.

Well, with 600 million in the bank, I'd choose between sth. along the lines of "Calliope", "Hortense" or "Griffioen". The first two would really be too big, so I'd have slightly smaller versions of them built. And with some alterations, "Griffioen" would be a really nice ship: if possible, I'd extend the main deck's housing to the bow, move the bridge a bit to the front, too, and enlarge the salon behind it.
Then again: a Mulder Wheelhouse would be pretty close to perfect.

Ah well, with 10 bucks in the bank, dreams are all I have.

A company that would make another 600M.
The *LAST* thing I'd do would be out buying multi-million dollar liabilities.

Now now Carl, that's not to say a fresh G-550 isn't a liability, but I'll save that thread for a new forum. ;)

The ironic thing here is that I bet there are a few members on YF who are employed on multimillion $ yachts and actually get to USE them and ENJOY them more than their very wealthy owners who are too busy managing their $600mil and worrying about it all.
Now I know no job is all fun, but on a trade-off, I wonder who gets the better deal.

FWIW I would buy a Nordhavn 75 Expedition YF for Australia.
A Fleming 65 moored off Oil Nut Bay where I would build a ”shack”.
The rest of the time I would charter the best available.

Well, when not bombing around in my nearly-new 33' Powerplay (isn't that bling enough?), I might pay someone to restore this so I could also put-put around:

LOLOLOL After working on a lot of these yachts, enjoying them more than the owners, and FIXING them......well you know......you kinda learn bigger is not best, and simple is makes for a lot more enjoyable cruising than complicated......

    My Dream Boat...

A new, or like new Moonen 97. Classed for light ice, or more. If that's possible.

Attempt to find a way to use Carl's Powerplay as a tender. Have another
tender that would look good, and keep on ticking after being beat up on
    beaches, rocks, etc..

A small two person whirlybird. Maybe something like Daniel Kocyba’s ‘Hummel',
only beefed up for more than emergency use.

Have three small, but top notch crews that would work one month on, two months off.
    Paid 365 days a year.

And see as much coastline as possible.

Run a add in the Palm Beach area. "New multi-millionaire seeks suitable
temporary female companion to help spend lots of money. No strings attached !" yeah right...;-))

I'm sorta in line with Ward & Carelm.
I think I'd have an old woodie restored to my spec.
    About 55 feet or so.
As Carelm said, to be big enough to be comfortable but small enough for my wife & I to run and gunk hole.
FAST as can be had because fuel will cost $$$ but who cares w/ $ 600 M.
Pay a professional to keep her nice, and one to keep the boat nice too....

In addition, I'd need some nice woodie run abouts and a nice shed/slip/ building, to keep them in like one I've seen on this thread somewhere.
